Using the text code 'r' does not reset previous formatting when viewed while being typed or in the chat window.
As @unknown's iOS screenshots show, the color/formatting displayed while typing and while in chat are the same, but these are different than the color/formatting displayed in the message shown in the world. I confirm this happens on Android too.
When typing or when in the chat dialogue, §r resets the formatting but not the color, this is the bug. However when you exit chat and see the message in world, the color/formatting are as expected.
It did not matter whether I applied formatting or color first. I tested with §l§3boldblue §rtest
and §3§lbluebold §rtest
.
While typing and in chat I see:
{color:blue}*boldblue* test{color}
{color:blue}*bluebold* test{color}
which are bugs becausetest
shouldn't be blue.
In the world I see:
{color:blue}*boldblue*{color} test
{color:blue}*bluebold*{color} test
as expected.
Whew formatting hurt brain.

It only doesn't reset the previous color, but bold/obfuscated/italic/underlined formatting can be reset by §r
