Confirmed. The bug only happens if the cursor is hovering on a slider bar after when the screen is switched.
This also happens even if you change the work directory of the launcher with the start-up arguments --workDir
to a different directory.
@unknown Sorry for the very late reply. It no longer happens in ~1.10.

@unknown, Java 8 works fine in launching modded Minecraft; Java 10 will fail to load any modded Minecraft.
@unknown, the bug here is the Minecraft Launch Wrapper, not the modification. Note that Minecraft Launch Wrapper is a Minecraft library.
Java 10 will soon take over Java 8, so if this bug won't get fixed, mods will not be able to be played.
(Take note of at net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch.<init>(Launch.java:34)
)
Your friend might have a framerate booster modification installed in his/her laptop.
It's normal for the server to add a backslash before a colon

Cannot confirm. Make sure that you are not using any resource pack
100% GPU usage for me. Maximizing the Minecraft window causes frame rate to drop. Tried lowering the resolution of the new panorama via resource pack, and it does not work.
