REALMS-1399

Wrong Version of Downloaded World

Update on this issue:

18th Dec 2018 Unfortunately an important hotfix was needed for Nintendo Switch, meaning that Realms will also be updated to 1.8.1. (Changelog)

This means that while players on 1.8.0 and 1.8.1 will be able to join Realms and play together as normal, those players on 1.8.0 won't be able to play on downloaded Realm worlds until 1.8.1 (or higher) is released on all platforms. We intend to release an update for the other platforms, but at the moment it looks as though we won't be able to get the hotfix through certification and then released until after the holiday season, sorry for the inconvenience.

I have tried to download and access my world from my realm but as soon as I download my world from my realm I get the error message "file was saved in a newer version of the game and cannot be loaded". I can enter the realm just fine I just can't access my world after I have download it for when I am not at home. I did check the version of the game and it appeared to be correct.

I am having this same issue.  I can't open my downloaded realm on my computer, and I'm receiving the same message.  I am using the BDCraft texture pack, on my realm, and I'm able to play on a downloaded version of a backup from a month ago.  I've been able to load everything else, including going into the realm, and other worlds, so the issue does appear to only affect the downloaded realm.

Also having this exact same issue - please fix.

Same issue on Windows 10 1.7.0.

I have experienced this on Windows 10, Android, The Switch... Testing on Xbox one later

I'm having this issue consistently. Tried downloading realm and entering it as a world on Windows 10 and Nintendo Switch — both fail the exact same way.

I'm playing on 1.9.0 on both mcpe and switch and I still have the same problem. I cant open the world saved from mcpe on my switch

I was able to use this program https://www.universalminecrafteditor.com/ to change the MinimumCompatibleClientVersion to 1, 9, 0, 0 in order to load my mcpe worlds onto my modded switch.  As long as you have a computer and a way to load external worlds onto your console, you are able to use this workaround.

I'm having the same problem on my xbox 1. My son was having trouble joining me on our world. So I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Now I get A newer version of the game has saved this level. It cannot be loaded. Unable to connect to world. Please help.

Im having this issue, when trying to move any worlds to my xbox one x, i used my android tablet (bedrock version 1.10.0) to load my custom texture pack, as i cant do it on my xbox, then uploaded to my realm, downloaded to my xbox (bedrock version 1.10.0) and im getting the newer version has saved message, how unless the realm is a newer version ????, either way this is a big issue.

It looks like the problem has been solved, I can now download and access my realm worlds
