When attempting to join my realm, it will endlessly state "Connecting to the Realm" without loading into the world, i have reset minecraft and my PC, neither have worked. The realm worked last night but not now at all.

Also have this issue, on two different realms. Two different computers as well. Just "Connecting to the realm.." forever, and eventually an message that "an error has occurred, please try again later".
Really frustrating, and this is on a set up that was working before. Note that I can configure the realm fine, set up worlds, etc, just can't actually play. Please fix!

Also having this issue currently, tried restarting minecraft, logging out, closing and reopenig game and realm but nothing seems to work

I have the same thing happening to me too but my boyfriend and his friend joined in fine, I'm the only having this issue :/
I tried to cancel, log out, close and go back in but nothings worked so far.

For anyone experiencing this issue, I finally found a fix (sort of).
Try staying away from touching the realm for a day or two, and then try to play in it. After doing that, I was able to play on my realm freely.

Friends can connect to real,

I am the owner of my friend group's Realms and I am the only one who can't connect. Everyone else can connect just fine but I get stuck "connecting to realm.." forever, it never sends me to any error and just tries to connect forever. This is incredibly frustrating and I'd like to be able to play with my friends on the Realms I am PAYING for.
Things I have tried:
-Reinstalling Minecraft completely
-Checking my Firewall settings
-Changing my Username
-Launching with no Resource Packs/Optifine
-Trying to Connect with different versions
-Reuploading our world save to a different world slot (Tried all 3)
-Restarting my router/computer
-Using my friend's computer to sign into the Realms (They can sign into the Realms just fine) I still was stuck on "connecting to realm..."
-Turned the Realms off for 4+ Hours then back on
-Checked my latest log where it even says. "[22:21:49] MCO Compatability Checker #1/INFO: Realms is available for this user"
NOTE: I can connect to the Realms just fine if it set to the Mini-Game option, just not any of the three worlds save slots.
I just want to be able to play with my friends again. I have never had this issue with Realms before and it has now been an issue since February 6th, 2021 and it is currently February 9th, 2021. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated because I am at a loss of what to even begin to try anymore.

If you're experiencing this, are you able to connect to multiplayer servers like Hypixel?

Yes, I can connect to online servers just fine and with no issues once connected.

This also occurs on bedrock edition.

Is anyone going to tell us how we can fix this issue or not?

I am the owner of my friend group's Realms and one of the members can't connect.
Version 1.16.5 Java
Everyone else can connect just fine but she gets stuck on "connecting to realm..".
The problem is in her account.
She get's the same problem on other computers and when I try it from her computer with my account it works.
We're on the same network.
She can connect to multiplayer servers just fine but not to the realm.

How come this is still unassigned in Jira?
1 year has passed and you've still not done anything to solve it apart from collecting duplicate tickets?
Or did you just forget to update the ticket with the progress made?
Please give all of us some type of update or even better, a fix 🙂

I am also having same problem.
I just can not access to my world ever since yesterday.

This is happening to me but io.netty.channel etc shows up but it is happening to everyone and we have no idea why.

Minecraft Realms for Java Edition has received a lot of updates and fixes over the last two years, so this issue has probably already been fixed in the meantime (e.g. because it was a temporary outage or an issue with the base game).
Since this bug report has not been updated since at least two years, please let us know if this is still an issue in current versions of Minecraft and update the bug report if applicable. If this is no longer an issue, please let us know as well. Thanks!

Currently experiencing the same issue on 1.16.4..
Neither me or the other players with access to the realm can join it, experiencing an ever-lasting "Connecting to Realm" screen, at times replaced with a "Can't connect to realm" after a couple minutes.
I've tried a number of workarounds, such as closing and opening the realm, creating new worlds within the realm, logging in and out of my account.
I'm afraid this issue will not be fixed so soon, as there's little attention to it. Since that's so, I'm planning on cancelling the subscription on this realm, and buying yet another one, while transferring the world in this current one to it. If that also doesn't work, I'll make sure to post it here.
