Still having this issue in 1.7.4.
I'll attach both the server crash log and the Java crash log.

More information:
This is a plain vanilla server running on CentOS Server 6.4 which is in turn running on a VM provided by a Proxmox KVM server. The VM is allocated 3GB of memory and a local HDD. I've installed the server per the Wiki instructions and also installed Java per the instructions.

This still happens in 1.7.4.

Oh i get it. so an enderman picked the grass block up, teleported into the cave, and placed it there. Thank you.

i've had this same issue. my snowy taiga became a regular taiga and it now rains instead of snows

This is the latest crash. I realize this is a Java crash log, but I'm hoping it sheds some light on what's going on. I haven't been able to have the server run more than 24 hours since the the change to the new launcher.

Please let me know if there is anything else you need.

This is a vanilla server. I’m only using McMyAdmin as the backend, but I’ve disabled it and started the server without it. When I have a chance, I’ll play again and (if it crashes) send that report.

I've had this happen in 1.6.4. Annoying.

Yes, i created a map in 1.6.2 with another map in my inventory, and my old map went blank.

I'm having the same issue in 1.6.2. It seems like most of the time the chickens get stuck in the corner fence as babies and then grow up stuck in the fence. Seeds do not lure them out of the fence.
