Yeah same. Am on Xbox One and I trapped a villager in my under cave so he can auto farm my potatoes for me and I have done this 3 times already. He kept despawning am not sure why but I feel like when am out of the render distance. I did noticed that my villagers that auto farm for me like moving a lot tend to despawn on me but while the villagers I trap in the boat never despawn and both of them are right next to each other. Seem like the villagers who auto farm have despawn or disappear a lot out of no where for no reason and these guys are trap in a glass box. Am assuming is the render distance for it happens randomly. Sometime I go on a far journey and their still there but sometimes I come back to them, their gone.
