Have the same issue
This issue seems to be long-term and now I have uninstalled an reinstalled the game but it is still there. I had to delete everything (worlds,mods etc) just to make my favourite game work. Plz Mojang fix this bug.

Since it's not The Trial Chambers I feel that's kind of a poor comparison because it's yet a different context and it also oversimplifies a nuanced aspect of grammar. But it may be so. How can we know for sure? Many instances of inconsistent pluralization have been corrected in the past.
BTW here is a list of some instances in videos, posts and articles where Mojang specifically uses Trial Chamber when referring to just one of the new structures specifically in a singular manner.

I just tested this with a new world created in 1.19.80.20.
created world and traded with a villager in 1.19.80.20
changed Preview version to 1.19.80.22 in TestFlight
opened the world in 1.19.80.22 and traded with villager until they went from level 1 to level 2, 3, etc.
this appears to be resolved.
