This is my world. This is everywhere, in the rivers, in coves, in lakes, in every pond they'll fit. Getting rid of them is dangerous, time-consuming, and wastes a lot of weapons-- and they all come back anyways. I can't even just block up the space because I'd still have to listen to them underneath. I'd have to fill every area of water in order to get this to stop, which would be an impossible task that should be unnecessary.
Drowned need to despawn on a regular basis, or-- if they are despawning-- need to stop spawning more at such an excessive rate. I normally stay within 200m from home, and my ability to do anything in or near water is limited because of too many drowned (something as simple as gathering clay is such a massive fight I can't even begin to consider building underwater kelp farms, exploring shipwrecks, etc). I built an iron golem, and either it despawned after 40 minutes (which would be another issue entirely) or all these drowned killed it ( ! )-- I suspect the latter. Many, many tagged horses, sheep, pigs and donkeys have disappeared, I suspect buried under drowned in pools like these.
You can see in the screenshot that there is one drowned for each block of floorspace (19). I was not exaggerating when I said above that water spaces are packed solid.
[media]I had a cleric, a farmer, a cartographer and a leatherworker. Despite having only 2 cauldrons in the area, the cleric, the farmer and the cartographer all became leatherworkers. Only 1 of the now 4 leatherworkers changed profession to a fletcher, despite that I broke both cauldrons and have 12 other workstations for them to choose from. The other 3 will not change. (xbox one, after update)
This (or something similar) just happened to me on xbox one. 3 days ago I built 2 tiny auto-farms near my house (only 30 on the Y and 80 on the Z away from my activity area) and had 2 continuously travelling minecarts going more or less fine while playing (the now despawned minecart would stop on rare occasion for some reason unknown to me, but if I gave it a nudge it would make its continuous rounds again without further issue; it would still be running as it should if I exited the game normally and returned later).
Today I was distracted away from the game for awhile, the xbox eventually timed out and shut off automatically. When I returned to the game, 1 minecart (and its chicken passenger) were gone. Placing a new minecart on the track resulted in a minecart which would stop every time after going around any corner, and so does not function as the depawned one did-- until a sheep jumped in, and now it goes all the way around back and forth again. I don't know what that's about, but in any case, my original minecart appears to have despawned, possibly due to the xbox turning off before I exited the game properly. Game auto-save is frequent but the game doesn't seem to have remembered the minecart where it was, nor did it remember the existence of the minecart from my last manual save+exit.
I had cured zombie villagers change profession after trading with them (I had a cleric, a farmer, a cartographer and a leatherworker); all were trapped in dirt on all sides while I built a fence around my house because they kept wandering off into the night. When I finished the fence and let them out, all were leatherworkers. Before curing the zombie villagers, I had a cauldron in the house at ground level, and a loom, cauldron and a potion stand underground, inaccessible to the villagers. (Note 2 cauldrons and 1 leatherworker resulted in 4 leatherworkers.) I have since broken both cauldrons and spammed the place with 7 compost bins, 1 lectern, 1 blast furnace, 1 stonecutter, 1 grindstone, 1 fletching table and 1 smithing table; the original loom and potion stand remain where they were. I have no smoker. One villager changed to a fletcher, the others will not change. (xbox one)
All indicator maps, all zoom level 3/4, all placed without rotating; no progress indicator on achievement and no achievement when 9 maps completed. Changing orientation/rotating had no effect. (xbox one)
All villagers in villages I have passed through even only once are later gone when I return days/weeks later, even if I go far away from the village. If I stay overnight, sleep at dusk, all are gone in the morning even though no zombies were present, heard nothing during the sleep. I've stayed up all night, seen/heard no zombies, but all are gone again if I leave and return later in the same "day". None close doors. I have repopulated a village from curing zombie villagers and it happens again the very next night. They usually all try to pack into one house, so even if I close the door myself, one will be glitching half in/half out through the door. Even houses with only one villager in it, they do not close the door at night. (xbox one)
I'm also having this problem (xbox one). Small-ish, shallow coves in rivers are packed solid with drowned (75+), shorelines are full of drowned wandering out of the water, even if I've removed shade trees and added cactus to prevent them walking out. I often see them walking on open ground during the day and not burning. Everywhere there are small pools packed solid with drowned, stacked double-high if it is deep enough. If I accidentally fall in while trying to get rid of them, I am certain to die because it is too crowded to move to get out. I fill the ponds with boats for them to jump in and burn during the day, but the next day they're all back. I can't save animals who jump into ponds for a swim. Lighting shores doesn't have any effect and there aren't enough sea pickles in the world to light every pond, cove and shore. I can't fish without 1-4 drowned in my face. The worst part is the noise, they sound gross to begin with but when there are hundreds in a cove plus ponds everywhere, it's very loud! It is so excessive, it has made gameplay really unpleasant. Please dial down the spawn rate or give us a poison to put in the water that won't harm the fish, because I don't know what else to do.
While approaching 2 villagers with the intention of trading with the Cleric, the Cleric disappeared right in front of me. They were both only about 5 blocks away from and facing me. Both were standing outside the house where their workstations are. The Cleric was level 2 and originally a zombie villager. I don't recall if I cured the other villager or if it was born in the area normally.
I thought the Cleric might have glitched inside or around the corner of the house, but it was nowhere to be found. A short time later, a baby was born, presumably to replace the disappeared Cleric, but I can't be sure of that since I have extra beds/houses/workstations anyways.
