Writing in books / signs could still use some work though
This has made my entire rail network useless and is a pain in the ass. If I want to get out of a minecart mid track, I have to exit it, and then RUN LIKE HELL to try and catch it before it hits the next set of boosters. Why couldn't I just shift click to break it or something? Or click to break it, shift click to place things through the cart? It's the most annoying thing in the world and has made rails completely useless to me
and I LOVED rails 😞
This has been posted many, many times before, and is one of the most well known minecraft glitches. Search before posting to see if anyone else has posted it!
you have a chest, which you can no longer place slabs, stairs, leaves, or a bloody lot of other blocks above it. Now storage is HALF as dense, and cumbersome. Hoppers could not lead into chests from the top. Torches couldn't be placed above them.
It would break MANY things.
Now, you can place slabs, stairs, leaves, hoppers, and glass above chests. What would that break?
"Fixing" it would break more than it would fix. Works as intended.
This would be extremely useful. You could copy paste book content for guides / books you want to reproduce, and would allow you to publish them in lue of the lack of printing press / copy mechanic. It would also very handy to be able to move the courser
The behavior of published / signed books should NOT be changed, so people can;t copy form them. What we really need is a way to copy books like we can maps
Anyways, I'd support a bit more work going into writable books
If they do re-enable them, I hope they would find a way to make them not spawn inside houses. It was a pain in the ass :/

not a bug. test again with cows in a rail "pen". they won't cross it, but if you hold wheat they will still follow you over them.

From what I understand, the blocks have a class or attribute they inherit that requires them to have a block under them. Instead of the complicated programming of adding an exception to only allow certain blocks of this class, why not just allow them all? It should be left as is for simplicity and flexibility.
If you don't want a bed, or red stone, or slower pots on a hopper, then simply don't place them on a hopper. Problem solved.

This has been around forever, and has annoyed the hell out of me! lol
Hoppers need consistency - NEED it - if they will ever achieve their maximum usefulness. They should either always store the items before being able to be pulled form, or always have their items pulled to another hopper before being stored. Hell, even a switch between "store" and "pass along" mode. It just needs consistant
I'd say ti works as intended. Being able to place additional items on hoppers harms the game in no way, where as not being able to place items on hoppers would prevent rails, pressure plates, and redstone - which limits the amount of innovation and creativity such an interesting block would allow.
If this is not as intended, then as intend should change to this.
This was rather annoying, I made a dock system based off currents keeping boats in the stalls, but it was useless because it didn't bloody work - the boats were free to drift up current
Still an annoying issue in 1.7.4. Please fix this. It's a mechanic-breaking issue that cripples minecarts and rails
