as a very long term player, ive lost all muscle memory and natural flow in the game and it's such a downgrade to what it was. honestly it makes the entire game feel like a cheap imitation of the minecraft i know and love – i can barely move in game anymore without bumping something i didnt mean to. the d-pad we are given now is too small and fiddly to use properly, and repeatedly drops contact when you slide your finger/thumb from one button to the next. the jump button is very inconsistent in how it changes placement unexpectedly between land, water, and flying, and i can only guess this wasn't intentional. attempting the "control customisation" in-game doesnt work as the size change option is half off the screen, and the jump button customisation resets when you change between land/water/flying. please give us the option to have the old d-pad back, like was done with the classic textures and other options! don't think i'll be able to play the game again until this gets fixed.
absolutely this! ive been playing the same way for near ten years and with one single minor update, they made the game almost unuseable. on my tablet, the directional buttons are tiny now and if i want to make them bigger, i have to move them over the centre of my screen. please give us the option to change it back, like was done with the classic textures and other options!

As others have said, this issue has not been resolved. The option to revert to the old d-pad controls has not been added, as many requested. While I can now change the size of the direction pad, it is unneccessarily large and takes up too much of the screen because it isn't as compact as the old one was (still a lot of space between the buttons). And because of where I have to put the jump button in the new UI, with the latest update (where the "swim up" button is tied to the jump button) it now almost totally overlaps with the "swim down" button. When in water, I can't avoid pressing both "swim up" and "swim down" with the same tap because they overlap and I can't change this back in the new update.
