I'm still seeing this behavior in 1.18 and 1.18.1rc2 in both the client and the server. Sometimes either will end up starting after a certain amount of time ranging from 5 seconds to 2 minutes, but usually they do not. I am running a local server and playing at the same time, and the failure rate seems to much higher when attempting to run both. I'm going to try to spin up the server on another machine and see if that changes anything.

I don't think it's fixed unless you get really lucky. I just grew 5 dark oak trees and I'm down 2 saplings from where I started.

I came here to report the same thing, so confirmed.

Bug still present in 1.6.1.

Confirmed in 1.5.1 as well. Note that the skeleton will pick up armor or a sword, but not a bow.

On my SMP server one of my paintings disappeared (the Wither painting), though I've had multiples of it elsewhere and they were still there.

To test the bug I went into Creative and spammed a painting on that spot to see what would happen. A painting appeared to be placed for a split second then disappeared. Later on when I was walking back through that area I noticed about 30 painting in that spot. I pulled them off the wall and tried placing them again, only to see the flicker again, though they haven't shown up yet like the previous time.

It's more the sound card than the system in general. I got a new sound card last week and the problem has diminished, though still noticeable. My game doesn't grind to a halt anymore, but it does stutter somewhat.

I think what is happening is the animals are pushing each other into the walls. I've seen this happen with breeding as well.

Compare the two screenshots. In the reported snapshot the lava is extremely orange; perhaps there was an overlay texture that was merged that is no longer being applied as a result of the change.

Mojang likely won't use the old "stone" wood data value because there are still a lot of people with builds using them from before the change.

Yes, the doesn't create procedural textures anymore, but the lava texture is now rendering wrong (unlike the clock or water in the reference). Since only one of the six textures referenced is wrong, I'm not sure it's truly intended.

Confirmed. Happens on my SMP server a lot in certain pens, though strangely not in others.

I've noticed this recently in my 1.4.6 SMP world, however the problem happens to me when switching between the Overworld and the Nether.

Even standing still my javaw.exe's memory steadily climbs, though eventually it will stop until walking around a bit. Going into and out of the nether in one trip usually increases my memory consumption enough the game gets really choppy.

Confirmed as well. This started when top slabs/stairs gained the ability to spawn mobs.

It's not quite on the level as destruction you suggest. You can use MCEdit to update all the blocks from 44:6 to 44:7 and 43:6 to 43:7.

In Snapshot 12w49, doing this would level up the enchantments similar to how combining enchanted items work.

So: Sharpness 2 book + Sharpness 2 book = Sharpness 3 book

What the reporter seems to be saying is you cannot do this anymore.

FYI: 44:7 and 43:7 are now the seamless slabs.

I can confirm this issue. I have a hallway that has slabs on the ground and sometimes if I hit them just right (usually the corner) I get stuck on it and my few vibrates like it's trying to move there and cannot.

I've noticed something similar, but the sound percentage goes up as well; the tick just goes up faster.
