Is it linked to a workstation or a bed?
This happens to me, too on Ps4 edition, but I usually place a block on the shadow and it updates, I can then remove the block and it works as normal.
I am in hard difficulty
There is a black square around xp orbs in ice spike biomes, when the orb is on the packed ice/ice ; in 1.16
I can confirm it affects Ps4 edition on 1.16 version
I have the game digitally, and I had this issue when 1.16 first came out. I sat there in front of the screen for over 2 hours. I tried reloading it several times and eventually even deleting and reinstalling it. Then I went on vacation for a week and when I came back it worked fine. Really strange...
