^Indeed, rabbits are the biggest problem of all. I have had around 75 rabbits in a pen for a while, and recently I noticed that most of them had gone "missing". After inspecting their enclosure, I realized that about 50 of them had all become lodged in a northwest corner of the fencing.

Still happening to me very frequently on vanilla, singleplayer Minecraft version 1.8.7
Even though these large chunk updates that are apparently causing the stuttering might be a natural process that comes along with generating and loading new terrain, I think it doesn't need to affect horse performance in such an annoying way.

Also, this bug is only effected by customizing the sea level and not by changing the biome depth offset, so I should clarify that these bugged source blocks will ONLY appear on the deafult sea-level, 63.

The two most recently added screenshots are of two different copies of the same seed, with the same custom settings. The one without the bugged source blocks was generated pre-1.8. The bug only appeared when the world was re-generated post-1.8.

The bug reported here about water spawning above sea level in swamps is clearly not working as intended, yet it was overlooked because of the other occurrences wrongly included in this issue that ARE working as intended.
There are a couple other issues documenting the swamp bug, which have been marked as duplicates of this, which was a flawed report from the beginning.
I suggest my new report of the swamp bug not be redirected here as I believe this issue is causing confusion, and I fear the swamp bug will continue to be overlooked if it remains in this so called "resolved" issue.

After more searching I suspect that this will be marked as a duplicate. But I checked the original, duplicated issue, and it is marked as "works as intended". Said issue reports "bugs" such as waterfalls coming from high-up cliffs, which is something that is working as intended, but also this issue, which is clearly not working as intended, and seems to have gone unnoticed by the original reviewer. I believe this particular occurrence deserves it's own report, as it has not yet been properly documented.

After re-examining the conditions in which this occured, I suspect it may have been because of the height at which I was harvesting. I was on a custom world, harvesting on the topmost block on which things can spawn. Maybe as the items fly up from the harvested grass, they could despawn as they cross the top of the block. I am not sure of the mechanics that could be at play at this height, but I have not noticed this since reporting it, although I am sure it was happening at the time.

Strange stair lighting confirmed.

I apologize for the dupes. Trying to search for the glitch among this database was quite daunting to me and I gave up after a little while. 😛

I've done as you suggested, and given it a look in 3rd person. From what I can tell, the object makes no movement towards the player whatsoever as it is picked up. If it does move, it is completely indiscernible to my eye. I suppose it should be noted that my MC typically runs at a consistent 30 fps, so if the object moves at such a speed, my framerate could possibly prevent me from witnessing such a movement, although this seems very unlikely, as I was not once able to catch the object in motion towards me, and I tested this for a few minutes.

When a block is destroyed or harvested, and the resulting item hits the ground 🙂

A moment after it is on the ground, it moves instantaneously a small distance from where it initially stopped. It happens 100% of the time, and it can become slightly irritating.

Not quite the same issue, I believe.

Even as I look directly down at the item, it does not move towards me at all, but just disappears into the inventory. It appears the animation is totally missing, not just altered.
