I do believe this technically should be a realms issue as it doesn’t affect local copies in my case.
No, the file size is permanently increased. Destroying the maps in lava or the void doesn't work either.

In my situation it only happens to my friend when I am using a trident near him.
Still no news on this, my builds look disgusting now, please fix it soon.
