Creakings can, in fact, be pushed by any mob except the player.
xinghe, I think what OP was saying is that they expected a sculk sensor to activate if it's close enough to "hear" the creaking mob itself be destroyed, not just if the block is destroyed. So if the Creaking Heart was outside of the sculk sensor's radius, but the Creaking itself was close enough to the sensor to be audible, OP expected the sensor to activate.

It seems very strange to see a mountain in a biome called "plains."
Perhaps, but I think it's less of a "core" issue and more of a related issue.
It prevents mobs from moving, liquids from flowing, blocks from being interacted with, chunks from loading, and commands from being run.
Connor, the cracks are most likely only there for decoration. I doubt there is a functional reason.
