This issue seems to be fixed and Minecraft, in general, is running better for me now in the 1.19.70, 1.19.71 updates. Thank you!

Sorry, I meant to include that it is a single player world. I only play locally on my Switch, not on Realms or anything else. Yes, I always press + on the Joy Con and then "Save and Quit." Then I wait for the worlds screen to load it's thumbnails, press B to get to the main menu, then press the Home button on the Joy Con and X out of Minecraft.

I've been experiencing the same lag/freeze/crash errors that so many seem to be having on Nintendo Switch. 1.19.63 automatically downloaded to my Switch 2 days ago. Minecraft seemed playable again (still a bit laggy, but played for 15 minutes or so without any freezes or crashes). But yesterday it crashed again twice while trying to play. First time I played for about 2 minutes, game crashed (error screen with message: Minecraft has encountered an error and has to close). Takes me back to the Nintendo Switch home screen. I reloaded and Minecraft started me back where I had initially started playing (it didn't save anything I had done for those 2 minutes). Played again for about 5 minutes, game crashed again. I reloaded and it AGAIN started me back where I had begun playing the first time (it didn't save anything I had done for those 5 minutes). I am playing from a Minecraft game card.
