I have the same issue, but mine stuck in Mojang loading screen, before the bars, I play on ps4 and my game is disc format, I didn't try to reinstall but I I'll test it.

Edit* it happens after 2.67 update in ps4, before i fix it uninstalling and reinstalling again.

Still in 1.14.41, @ can now be place in chat, anvil, books and signs. that's the only one I find so far.
