Vines on decaying leaves still make the sound as well, so chopping wood in jungles and swamps can get pretty loud

Keep in mind hostile mobs do not spawn within 30 blocks of the player. After making sure your difficulty isn't on peaceful, try running far away from your house then walking back and see if any have spawned.

It does this when running through tall grass as well just not as noticeable because the sound of tall grass on grass is the same

Are you referring to the bottom of the crafting table or the base layer of the side texture?

The culprit is most likely mineshafts generating. While walking around the world in non generated chunks with subtitles on you can see "Minecart rolls". This makes it easy to tell if you found a mineshaft simply by running around and reading your subtitles.

That's simply bad RNG. You are never guaranteed to get chests.

That's intended, because falling sand is an entity which falls through non solid blocks. when the sand entity stops falling it checks exactly where it is to see if it can place a block of sand. if it's air, water or lava it will place. Otherwise it will just drop the item. You can see this happening if you drop sand on a trapdoor or a slab

So, am I under the correct impression that because vines have multiple blocks they make a sound when they all break, and that's intended? My issue was marked as duplicate but I feel as though my issue is an unintended side effect of something that was added and should be fixed. Perhaps vines not broken by the player should not make sound? Please explain to me because currently it is very unpleasant to me to listen to vines breaking while chopping trees in the swamp.
