I was in the game alone, it's a private realm only 2 others have access and neither joined or have even played today . There were no mobs nearby to pickup the items either and I doubt any could carry a full body and an entire maxed out inventory. I wasn't close to fire and the only nearby lava was too far to have been a possibility. My body, inventory and xp did not even drop to begin with, it was a bug/glitch and as I haven't been able to replicate it I'm guessing is related to the witch.
I was in the mines for sometime so not sure exactly, but I can recall loosing the following...EVERYTHING!

I have a feeling my things were invisible.
One thing I forgot to mention is that when I died I didn't see my items or body on the ground like you normally do, so maybe it was all invisible. I'm blaming her potion of invisibility affecting me and my items at this point.

1. I didn't say the witch threw a potion of invisibility if that's what you were implying.
2. This is on Realms so Multiplayer. I'm not an admin so I have no privileges. No mods or packs of any kind are being used.
3. my body and entire inventory was lost. I have not changed any settings.

I saw her do no such thing. But regardless, thats op.
It's true the bow is not enchanted, but I watched her float in lava for 5 minutes and shot her more then enough times, especially given my level 😛
I'll see if I can get the seed and xyz.
This happens to me all the time, even in 1.7.10.
You just can't contain them. Maybe try a 2x2 fence around them.
How is this resolved?
I'm having the same issue with Minecraft Launcher 1.5 on two separate systems both running the same OS (and accounts).
After running the Launcher the location that usually says "Play" now says "Loading" and a small message to the right says "Welcome, guest! Please log in. Ready to play Minecraft 1.7.10" with a switch user button below. The button is clickable, but does nothing when clicked. Creating a new profile does not help. I'm unable to load and play the game. The only thing I have found fixes this [temporarily] is by deleting the ".Minecraft" folder located in "C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft".
I have recreated this issue several times with the same results.
I login to my account and play Minecraft. Then I exit the game. Relaunch the loader and logout of my account and close the launcher. When re-opening the launcher I encounter the described issue above.
Running the Launcher as Administrator has no effect either.

This is a stock install with no mods or add-ons in use or installed.
Sorry, I'm new to posting bugs here so I guess I wasn't clear on a few things.
1. This is a "Private Realm" running in "Survival Mode" that I "do not own, nor have any administrative privileges over". Therefore I'm not able to run commands like "/gamerule keepinventory true". I certainly wouldn't be upset over loosing my diamonds if I could.
2. You're correct, I'm aware that items despawn after 5 minutes. That is why I had specified that it was "seconds later".
3. DID YOU KNOW? Items will not despawn if that chunk of the map isn't loaded? I've gone back for items (Both on the surface & nether) upto 38minutes later to find everything waiting for me 🙂
4. Also I'd just like to point out I'm 35 not 9 years old. Chances are anything you suggest I'm already aware of ;P
5. There are no hacks or mods of "any kind" installed locally or server side.
6. I sadly do not have any screenshots or video of this.
Too bad Minecraft doesn't have replay functions like Warcraft/Starcraft.
