Confirmed, I am having this issue as well. Does not require elytra flight, there are huge issues with chunk loading when logging in or changing dimensions, with chunks not loading, light levels not being set, and maps being corrupted. Related to MCPE-162421 (Maps display black areas).
My primary system is a Razer Blade 15 with NVidia RTX2060, 16GB RAM, and Intel Core i7-9750H @ 2.60 GHz. Chunks are loading erratically, particularly immediately after spawning in to the server. There is also greatly increased "lag" with stuttering animations, stop-start movement, and generally a lack of smooth performance. See attached video.
[media]Uploaded a video of what occurs on startup (
[media]). A second player on our Realm verifies this is what she experiences as well. As of today, frame rate is back up to between 40 and 60 fps, intermittent, but the erratic chunk loading, stuttering animations, stop-start movement, and poor performance persists.
Confirmed, I have the identical issue as depicted in the images. Very slow and patchy chunk loading on logging in, and then any map showing my login location shows as above.
Related to https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-162424 (Higher rate of Unloaded chunks since 1.19.30).
For details of this happening in real time, see attached video:
[media]@Weronika Szajnfeld - When? I have just checked this issue by reproducing it on my Nintendo Switch. The issue at this moment continues to exist. Why have you marked this issue as "resolved" if any proposed fix has not yet been implemented, and the issue persists?
Verified. I have two players on my Realms server who play on Switch, and both report this issue. I have verified this exact issue myself though my Switch. Steps to reproduce:
Log on to Switch and manually update Minecraft
Minecraft on Switch shows version 1.19.20
Attempting to manually update again shows a message that Minecraft is already updated to the latest version
Log into Minecraft
Attempt to connect to Realms
Receive error message: Could not connect: Outdated client!
Mojang, any word on this?
It's been over a week, and I've got 6 players who are afraid to log into a Realm because they don't know if this will corrupt their builds, and two players afraid to log into a second Realm because they are afraid the related MCPE-162421 will corrupt their map art. Even just an update letting us know this is client-side and not a danger to our Realm generally would be appreciated!
