For my case, I use custom skins. This issue seems to occur very frequently when I simply close Minecraft, then relaunch the game before the game signs me in. This is what happened:
Launch Minecraft.
Wait for the game to sign you in.
Click on "Dressing Room."
Edit the current skin by switching your skin to a classic skin.
Use your owned skins.
Save your skin.
Close Minecraft.
Relaunch Minecraft.
If all steps have been replicated, the skin will revert back to the character creator skin before the game logs you in. Also, after logging in, your character skin will change to a different skin.
Strangely, I thought it looked like a void structure was generated before the actual terrain. However, upon exploring around, some of the areas when logging in has a light level of 0, therefore, creating the shadow map glitch.
I believe this is related to what’s going on. Major bug for the realm and severe performance issue. I use my GTX 1650 gaming laptop, and yet I suffer playing under 12 fps for every chunk generation.
I am using my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44 gaming laptop with GTX 1650. When I opened the realm, the chunks started frame dropping every time I generate chunks. It just goes below 12 fps when I fly around using the elytra.
This seems to load void chunks before the actual chunk generation. In addition, the chunks that load create performance issues where even a Windows 10 user with good graphics card will experience sudden frame drops.
Looks like this is more frequent when I’m lighting up dark caves and mining at the same time. Thanks for confirming this bug!
I found a workaround to this issue.
Steps to Produce:
1. Rename the first item.
2. Get any item in the second slot (the item you cannot use to enchant).
3. Remove the item out of the second slot.
4. The named item appears as a default name. Take out the item from the third slot when it displays "Enchantment Cost: X."
5. Wait a few seconds for a named item to appear on the hotbar.
Results:
After renaming an item after placing and removing the second slot of an anvil, there is a 2-second delay for an item to show up. You cannot open chests, inventories, or other interactions until the named item appears on the hotbar.
This has happened before. If everyone gets disconnected from the realm, wait at least 30 minutes or more before the realm reopens. It's only a temporary solution to this problem.
If your realm crashes and says "Disconnected...", wait at least 30 minutes before you can join back. This is affected on all platforms for the realm. If you attempt to join the realm, it will say "Unable to connect to world."
Ok, I exited the portal, and it also happened from the nether to the overworld. Same coordinates as well. Attached are the videos that compare this glitch. The second video worked normally, but the first one did not correctly send me back to the main spawn.
This happened to my friend in the realm when he teleported from the overworld to the nether at the exact coordinates. I tested each portal, and I encountered the same issue 3 times already.
My friend has the same issue when he entered the nether portal. As of now, I told my friends to empty their items and test the portal. It happened to me twice.
It happens with a TNT Minecart as well when it explodes instantly or by activating it with redstone.
