rotscale.vsh and spiderclip.fsh have mismatched location decorations for scaledCoord, where rotscale.vsh uses 2, and not 1, as spiderclip.fsh does. Changing both to 1 fixes the issue.
I can confirm that the issue is still present in 26.3 Snapshot 3.
When filling out my report it uploaded it pre-maturly without confirmation. Here are the images referenced in the report:
I can confirm that the issue is still present in 26.2 Snapshot 7.
That comment didn’t exist when I started writing mine. Sorry.
Why did my description disappear?
Here is a short description of the issue if it doesn’t come back: The minecraft:sulfur_pool feature does not produce noxious gas if the potent sulfur doesn’t get a block update (which can be caused by breaking a block beside it, like I did in the pictures). This is inconsistent with minecraft:sulfur_spring which does produce noxious gas without the player manually having to cause a block update.
This is the case for both naturally generated Sulfur Pools and for manually place ones.
It was hard to preview the images when adding them, so I accidently picked the wrong ones. Here are is non-mipmap image and mipmap level 4 image (zoomed in).
The recently linked MC-306718 might have some relation to this issue, but it's important to note that the effect I report is unaffected by mipmap settings (and anisotropic filtering settings). Other more related issues are:
MC-304695 - Here the interpolation is perceived as an intended effect. So the opposite of this issue.
MC-303669 - This may be because of the interpolation/weird pixel placement.
MC-304381 - Very similar issue and looks to be related due to similar interpolation effects.
These images show how alpha gets miscolored by interpolation: The leaves have a black "border", and the grass side (the overlay) has a yellow "border" - possibly the texture under it showing through, like proposed in MC-303669. With "border", I mean miscoloring due to the texture interpolation, as described in this issue.
The first image has no mipmap; the second image has mipmap level 4.
bits.fsh, a shader used by the creeper post effect, lacks a location decorator in thefragColordeclaration. This issue is partially related to MC-310319
