Jacob Main, for the dispenser to actually dispense bonemeal, there has to be an block that can be applied with bonemeal in front of the dispenser.

Josh, this is an intended feature; mojang made the iron bars one block tall compared to the one block and a half of fences or walls

The bug is popably caused because of the fact that the dropping animation is equal to the attack animation. To verify if its really a bug or an animation error; try to attack right after you drop item. If you can’t hit, theres a problem.

Ahustin Fitzhugh, this works as intended and it isn’t a bug. Mojang made it so you can mine bushes with shears and any silk touch tools.
