I have the same issue but it's not every block. In my case it was when I placed my 7th or 8th piece of cobblestone in a hole I dug out in the previous snapshot with no issues. Just a crash to launcher immediately. this is on single player, though afaik there is no distinction for the client anymore.

I still have this happening but I find that it reduces if you set the memory to 4gb and the part of the cache (I think it's at the end of the java options sting in the launcher profile currently at 128 to 256M (cache?) Java 1.8.20 seemed to clear it up a tad too without introducing any other noticeable bugs I could find in a typical survival run. Takes forever to load the first chunks when starting a new world, though.

yeah the game is unplayable. it even lags if I turn all the detail settings to minimum and set the chunk render distance at 2 chunks. This game's just broke and has been like this ever since they changed single player to be client/server. I think if they were going to fix it they would have. I'm going to try some different versions of Java. Why this game is still crippled by the poor choice of Java for the language is mystifying.

it was Kitt's world but I had deleted the one that was named that from the pre-releases beforehand. I messed with it some more and it seems to happen sporadically regardless of name.

With pre3 nearly all of my bugs went away with settings below 20 chunk rendering and 2gb allocated. I did remove everything other than the memory settings in the java settings as well. Still not perfect but almost all rendering issues and delays went away.

Happ, I know. I've gotten the same results all the way up 4GB allocated. I've seen all sorts of manifestations of the invisible chunk issue. Going back over my cache of notes on rendering engines I think you're right and my issue is distinct from the one described here. My bad. If it was the same issue I wouldn't be able to see the sides of the blocks in the chunk.

I just tried it and I could only hit the mob when he was standing up against the door. (Like when you can see his hands coming through the door model.) I tested all of the various doors and it was the same. Locke is correct on this... likely the hitbox coming through the door.

As an archer I can say that with the exception of the steel door... if you fire an arrow at it and a person is standing against it on the other side.... they're going to have a bad time. I would say this is working as intended, actually.

yeah... the world generator is a little behind... especially if you go in one direction too fast. took a good 3 minutes for it to catch up hovering still.

I've got an i7 and I've never had more than 10 FPS in a Jungle... I just kind of avoid them. My friend has the same thing with dual 780ti's and a 6-core i7. it's just more than what Java can handle.

yeah I stopped playing this whole series because of this bug. even if I bring my render distance down to 8 chunks, turn off all the fineries, it still happens constantly. I've been waiting 10 minutes for sand I placed to fall... another few minutes for other blocks I've broken to finally disappear... then a few more minutes to be able to be able to pick up the pieces. Just logged in to confirm it's still happening.

I'm seeing this as well. Also it seems the world generator and chunk renderer can get bogged down, even at a 16 chunk render distance, causing other things to be delayed. once every chunk that is going to load has loaded it seems to clear up a little bit. If you fly in a straight line you can effectively fly off the world as the chunk renderer can't keep up with running/flying in a direction for too long. Also I noticed a very long delay when I issue a command like /kill or /gamemode. Several seconds in some cases... again when the world generator goes fairly idle it clears up. Maybe they are all related?

Why not make the portal frame be able to be crafted via a combination of boss drops? That way if you happen to be in a world where all the strongholds are buggered up you can still reach the end. It will be more of a challenge, but you can do it..

Apologies. I searched for "world delete" and "unable to delete worlds" I saw a ton of other tickets about the delete function failing after pressing the delete button but none about not actually having the option to delete. Didn't think it would be being tracked under the action rather than the problem. I'll refrain from posting bugs. There's enough people here they're probably all duplicates.
