Hello, this server is not modded in any way. It is Vanilla Survival. We were waiting for updated controller support for an addon that is client side before updating to the latest release.
Monster spawners are supposed to work that way; to quote the wiki:
"The monster spawner spawns mobs in an 8*8*3 area around it when the player is within 16 blocks of the spawner"
But I can agree that there is an issue with the chunk loading; it's more noticable with redstone lamps+clocks. Sure, 60 chunks with all of them loaded might not be feasible, but at least a way to control them and set them higher would be nice.
Please Define Vanilla Client and Server. I am not trying to be difficult and am fairly new to the game. I have two instances of this game that run in two different ways:
One is CurseForge for the Minimap, and controller support, the other is directly through the normal Microsoft store Launcher version of the game.
The Server itself is paid hosting by a friend via a company named bisect, specifically selected Vanilla Minecraft 1.21.4 as shown in the screenshots below.
