Hi thanks for the quick reply!
I have not yet discovered a pattern here related to playtime.
I am also not using any resource packs, since the switch is already doing its best to keep up with the vanilla game haha.
I am using some clothes though from the marketplace.
This was on an official Realm
I agree, the mobile version shows it's possible on mobile hardware. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that high end phones generally have better cpu's compared to the switch. Switch trumps phones with it's gpu though. Minecraft is (from what I understand) a very cpu heavy game. So maybe boostmode is the only solution we have. Or, the Nintendo Switch just isn't their priority
You guys actually pulled it off! I had to convert my world from the previous build again, but it worked!! I just played cross platform with a friend of mine. Haven't tried realms yet i'd have to buy it to test it. But it works, thanks well done!
I'm sorry autocorrect got the better of me
This issue still remains in 1.9. Though I'm happy toch report that we can backup out saves via the Nintendo Switch itself since 1.9. Meaning I do not need realms for a backup
I bought the game on 22-05-2017. Knowing me I always Stay up to date and this is one of my first worlds so it should have been created roughly around that time
No. It was a vanilla World. Is there any more information about my system/situation I can provide that could help you guys?
Yes. But when a new World is created right now it seems to not care. Its only with my older converted world. The issue is still present if I convert that World again
Scenario 1:
My world which has had the Mario Mashup pack activated in the past (not at the moment of conversion). Converted in the past with everything set to default.
No cross play, Realms does not work
I am greeted with the following message: "Edit world? This world uses a resource pack or template that cannot be used in cross-platform multiplayer"
yet everything is set to default.
Scenario 2:
Test world 1, Newly created in the old version of minecraft, converted with everything set to default.
Cross play seems to work and I can upload this world to realms
Scenario 3:
Test world 2, Newly created in the old version of minecraft, has had mario mashup enabled in the past but not at moment of conversion
Cross play seems to work and I can upload this world to realms
Scenario 4:
Test world 3, Newly created in the old version of minecraft, has Mario mashup pack enabled at moment of conversion
Cross play and realms are disabled BUT, when I disable the mario mashup pack, cross play and realms work
Scenario 5:
My world converted using Bedrock 1.7.0 Has had mario mashup pack activated in the past but not at the moment of conversion.
No cross play, Realms does not work
I am greeted with the following message: "Edit world? This world uses a resource pack or template that cannot be used in cross-platform multiplayer"
yet everything is set to default.
Note: both Minecraft versions used are up to date at the time of testing
Thank you for your time
The issue of not being able to open my worlds has been resolved in 1.7! 🙂
However, this issue still remains:

Thank you for your response
At first I thought it might have had something to do with the different map system present in bedrock. So I removed all maps from my game, did not work. I tried converting it again, did not work. I think by now I have tried every setting I could come up with but it's still an issue
This holds true for me aswel. I have everything set to default. I'm not using other texture or resource packs. Yet, every world I transfer from the previous version of Minecraft has this problem. Newly created worlds are fine, the converted ones all have this message. This also prevents you from uploading said worlds to realms. Other Bedrock Switch players are fine to join.
I am having this issue too, I am also unable to upload my world to my realm I paid for because of this... This has been going on since the beginning of the bedrock edition. On 1.7 right now with everything set to default
I have also tried redownloading the game and checked for corrupt data, it did not help.
This is what I look like
