@Mega_Spud I believe we can close this issue as resolved in 1.18.30. I suspect that this issue was fixed by the introduction of render dragon.

Perhaps it was fixed unintentionally, since the issue seemed to be that the sky box was probably the issue before, being rendered too close to the player. The new rendering dragon probably has a new method and settings for the sky box that renders correctly.

This issue might be fixed with 1.18.30 introduction of the render dragon graphics engine. My iPhone 13 Pro Max (iOS 15.4.1) is now throttled to 17 chunk render distance so it is hard to tell if this issue still exists, since the artificial border appeared around 16 chunks away, but I was able to previously see some evidence of the border in the outer edge of the render distance. I can no longer see any evidence of this issue.

Someone with more powerful iPad and longer render distance might be able to confirm. @ZippyWonderdust can you confirm if this issue still exists on your iPad?

I experience this issue on iPhone 13 pro max with iOS 15.4.1 and bedrock version 1.18.12

I can no longer determine whether this issue still exists on my iPhone 11 due to dramatically reduced render distance in 1.18.2. Can anyone else with a more powerful iOS device confirm? From my previous experience, you need over 16 chunks of render distance to see the issue, and my maximum render distance was reduced from about 40 chunks to 13 chunks (which may be a separate issue in an of itself, but I also understand the caves and cliffs update requires more resources so Mojang reduced render distance recommendations to try to compensate. It does seem a bit extreme though.)

I still experience this issue in v1.17.11 on iPhone 11.

I still experience this issue in v1.16.221 on iPhone 11.

Brendan helpfully noted in a duplicate Jira that this issue appears as if the skybox is clipping through rendered chunks along the x-axis. That is a plausible explanation. For my iPhone 11, it appears to clip at about 16 chunks away.

I still experience this issue in v1.16.210 on iPhone 11.

I still experience this issue in v.1.16.50 on iphone 11.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start a world in creative on iPhone 11 (The issue also appears in survival, but creative makes it easiest to see while flying)
2. Set the render distance to the maximum setting: 36 chunks
3. Observe the render distance along x-axis vs z-axis while flying at around 200 blocks in the air.

Observed Results:
Notice that blocks on the x-axis are artificially obscured by the void about 16 chunks away. This causes the world to appear rendered as a strip, rather than a circle around the player.

Expected Results:
The world should render around the player spherically, without an artificial stop to the render distance along one axis.

I still see this issue in v1.8.1 (as expected, since it was an emergency fix update for nintendo switch and realms, not a bug fix update).

I can confirm this issue on both windows 10 and iOS in v1.8.0.

I can confirm this issue exists on iOS and Windows 10 in v1.8.0.

Do you have a photo of the issue? Does changing the FOV slider affect your issue?

For these issues on realms, could this be a duplicate of MCPE-31596? Does your game still have this issue in a new local single player world?

Hello Mojang,

I believe that this bug is distinct from bug 8002. I have experienced both issues. I have had mobs disappear randomly, but on my windows 10 version, zombie villagers always de-spawn at the instant that they are supposed to be cured. Therefore, since 8002 is random, but zombie villagers/villagers do not de-spawn randomly for me, but only when they are cured, I suspect that this bug is related specifically to the curing process.

Ok I looked everywhere where it should be dark and I didn't find any single red mushrooms so I am s.o.l. to make red mushrooms into red dyes

Then when in crafting table why is a craft for red roses and absolutely no crafting for this so called blue roses?

ok i wasn't sure what version the Minecraft - Pocket version is so i put in 0.8.0 oh ok so i just have to wait til November and see if the Play Store or wherever i got Minecraft - Pocket Free version from thanks David King and Jimbo1258
