I first noticed this bug with villagers. I tested in 1.11 using villagers rather than bats. I created the enclosure in the attached picture, and spawned villagers in the middle. After about an hour, I would say they are close to being evenly distributed.

I confirmed that this is still a bug in 1.11. Attached new screenshots

Marcono1234, after reviewing that bug, I think you are right. Honestly, I hope they fix that issue before this one (unless they get fixed at the same time)

This bug does have the consequence that, the next time the minecart is placed, you can no longer get a villager to ride in it. I haven't tested out other aspects of this bug yet, I only discovered it when trying to move villagers around, today.

Confirmed for 14w34b

There are still problems with how powered minecarts go around corners. If there are two corners, the powered minecart will go about 8-10 blocks then stop. Sometimes they keep going, and rarely they bounce back an go the wrong way before stopping.

Also, powered minecarts no longer push minecarts with chests when both are adjacent and started from a dead stop.

I'll attach some screenshots of the experiments I made. At first I thought the distance between corners made a difference, but after looking at the results I'm not sure.

Confirmed for 14w21b

"Too easy? If we follow your logic we need to make it hard to farm everything then."

That's not logic. Logic would be, if you are able to teleport, and you get hurt by lava, any time you fall into lava you would teleport away as fast as you can. As a player you would agree that that is what you would do. If water is your weakness you would get out of it pronto.

Enderman seem to be designed to be rare and hard to kill. A flaw that makes them easier to kill is a bug.

I wonder if this is the result of the fix for this bug: MC-50821

They eventually will catch up to the player. However, they will walk through hell and high water to get there.

Also seeing it in 14w21b

I've seen this with villagers who haven't been unloaded. I just don't know how to reproduce the problem without intentionally unloading the chunk (log out, crash, etc.)

Would it be possible to add some logic that detects if the last trade fails to generate new trades?

I should have thought to post the preset.

The only boundaries I changed were for Diamonds. I haven't explored enough yet to see how diamond ore has been affected.

I can't reproduce the problem with Advanced OpenGL off. I have to keep Graphics on "Fast," because this is an older laptop.

Quick question for John (and others).

Are you using Advanced OpenGL? I was thinking about it on my work today, I tinkered with this setting around the same time I noticed the unloaded chunks. I'll test tonight with that setting off.

More pictures, after walking for about 200 to 300 blocks, through an area I've explored before (but not this session)

I can confirm that this is a problem in 14w20b. I'll attach a screenshot.

FYI, I'm using the "Fast" graphics settings
