Bouncing when taking fall damage after having levitation effect

This bug is similar MC-83064 where the player takes cumulative fall damage when using the levitation effect. If the player takes fall damage after having any levitation effect, the player will be launched into the air. I originally found this out while using downwards levitation effects, but after further testing, it happens with all levitation effects.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9Y7i3737gw You can see that at the end of my death, I jump way up into the air. The flint is just used to give me levitation 2 when I have it in my offhand.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Find a place to fall
2. Effect yourself with any levitation effect (I have mainly tested with 2, 254, and 255) (/effect @p minecraft:levitation 10 1 (This will give you levitation 2 for 10 seconds))
3. Get over the falling area
4. Fall and bounce!

I'm running a Windows 10 right now, and I'm not getting the issue, I'm pretty sure for Windows and Mac OS X the code reacts differently.

For example, In 1.8 (or higher, or even in previous versions) the mouse started the glitch when you left clicked or right clicked. This problem didn't happen for Windows computers.

I know that the versions are coded separately from each other, but I have been able to recreate this bug multiple times even after quitting and reopening the game. It is still a bug with the OS X version of the game and should be fixed.

Duplicate of MC-10755. Effects with amplifiers over 5 are not supported here.

I have done further testing, and it works with all levitation effects and I have updated the issue.

Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.11) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time. If you are the owner/reporter of this ticket, you can modify the affected version(s) yourself.

This is still occurring as of 1.13.1 JE.  Just happened to me while testing status effects.  Hit the ground from a very low height and was launched into the air.  I tried this a few times to be sure and it was reliably replicated as described by the original report.  Also took a look at my FallingDistance player data before and after.  Distance while levitating was correctly showing 0.0f and started increasing as expected once the status effect wore off.
