Tool info not showing up in most GUIs

When I went to open a chest to see the enchantments on an item that information would not show up only when I went into my inventory not even the name would show up or the advance tool tips only when I put it in my inventory would it show up

Affected blocks:

  • Chests (single / double / trapped / ender)

  • Furnace

  • Hopper

  • Dropper / Dispenser

  • Minecarts with chest / hopper

  • Brewing stand

  • Shulker box

  • Beacon

I can confirm. Tooltips only showing in inventory, Not in chests.

Observed in 17w14a. Did not notice in previous snapshots

That is true, I can confirm. Did not happen in previous snapshots.

Can confirm. Was just about to report this.

Apparent workaround: Open recipe book. Leave it open. Now the tooltips will appear. Recipes have been reset to empty however.

I noticed this too since I just updated to 17w14a.

Also the background is no longer dimmed.

Is there a work around or do we wait? If it's just a xml, jar I'd give it a go...
