Block faces appear dark when behind semi-transparent blocks with Smooth Lighting enabled

The bug

When a semi-transparent (like ice) block is next to a full block, it will appear dark. This only occurs when using smooth lighting.

Please provide a screenshot with the debug screen enabled (hit the F3 key) demonstrating the issue.
