Hat layer on player heads is offset

The bug

Player heads that make use of the second layer, their second layer displays wrong. Corrupted textures differ from the facing of the head.

How to reproduce

  1. Get a player head that uses the second layer.

    /give @s minecraft:player_head{SkullOwner:"Oval"}
  2. Try different rotations (with a debug stick).

    /give @s minecraft:debug_stick

    → ❌ Second layer is misplaced and changes with facing of the head

Doesn't this involve the Debug Stick? If so, this is a Won't Fix.

@unknown, It doesn't need the debug stick. I included that into the reproduce steps, so you can rotate the head with the stick instead of replacing the head manually.

With the head rotating on the horizontal-axis, the overlay rotates around the head on the vertical axis instead.

I hope they fix this next snapshot, but I think they said 18w50a is the last snapshot of the year?

@Derek Ludwig there will be one more bugfix snapshot, Dinnerbone said so on his twitter.

still broken in new snapshot might have something to do with the player skins not showing outer layer in 3rd person\other players

@tylor hebert actually this is another issue. Btw. You can avoid iy pressing Esc at the moment when world will open (before showing player hand and terrain generating) and close menu after world'll generate

that doesnt seem to help in the recent 19w03c it still occurs

Fixed in 19w04a 👍
