The bug
Azalea and flowering azalea can be placed in water, but not waterlogged. May be a deliberate choice, but other nonaquatic plants get washed away for the most part, so this one remaining without becoming waterlogged is odd.

Can still reproduce in 22w15a. However, the azalea cannot be placed on water normally; it has to be inside a one-block hole so that only the top of the azalea block is covered by water.

Can no longer reproduce in 1.20.5. Azaleas now pop off when placed in water.

In 1.20.5, Azalea bushes pop off if water attempts to flow into the block from the side; however, water is not able to flow in and break the block from the top.
This means that while an azalea bush can't remain on the bottom of a flat pond or similar, it can be placed in a one-block hole or have water flow on top of it on its way down a slope without breaking.
