This is absolutely caused by the fact map holding item frames now have a bigger hitbox.
Item frames should only break if their hitbox intersects a same-facing item frame/painting hitbox.

yup. Likely from the hitbox fix

The bug's still open so are they gonna change it?

All bugs will get fixed eventually (in theory), but you can't expect every bug to be fixed quickly. Remember, each report is competing with 8,200 other open bug reports (643 of which have the same or higher votes/priority, which isn't the only factor in deciding if a bug gets fixed).

@MacchuPicchu Thanks for correcting my statistic.

very much hoping this is fixed before 1.19, it broke my infinity room lol (room covered in item frames and completely white maps)

@MMK21 I think you mean 8,200

Wait it says it's fixed but I can't find the bug in any of the Minecraft snapshot articles that usually show up if it was fixed. If it resolved and fixed, can we make infinity rooms again?

It also says Future Version, so is it the fix not OUT yet or will it be changed in a later snapshot? I need confirmation, people!

@MisterZero You were right to pick up on the Fix Version field: being marked as fixed for a "future version" means that Mojang have fixed the bug, but the bugfix hasn't been included in any released snapshot yet. This likely means that the fix will ship with 1.19-pre3, whenever it comes out.
