Ender Dragon Ai in 1.14 and later is different and buggy

Before version 1.14, the ender dragon would dive straight down to the portal, after, it descends while turning side to side in a obvious buggy matter. It seems to also remain at the same y value rather than fly around the pillars fluently. It seems to rarely ever descend to the portal to perch unless all crystals are destroyed, it previously did it veryΒ  frequently. It also no longer dives or strafes to fire a fireball, but rather flies above them in circles before firing it, and its divebomb attack is now missing as a result. This issue has already been reported, but it was marked invalid as the original report used mods, so pls dont mark this as a duplicate or invalid because this is vanilla and this is a game breaking bug. I can confirm, but please note that Mojang does make intentional changes across different versions from time to time. So this maybe intentional/working as intended.

I was the person to make the original report and it was marked as Invalid by Mojang, not because I was using mods. I highly recommend splitting this issue into multiple reports (one for the portal dive, and one for the circling dragon phase behavior).

Also regarding what @BugTracker said, these changes were not intended, they were a result of a ender dragon visual bug that popped up during 1.14's development. The visual glitches were fixed, however the AI issues that happened because of that bug are still in the game to this day.

See MC-146959, MC-158205, MC-194339, MC-197201, MC-207174, MC-227327 for several already reported issues with ender dragons and the ender dragon fight. If there is an issue that was not previously reported, please create a separate ticket for that issue.

Thank you for your report!
However, this issue is Invalid.

Please put only one bug report in each ticket. It is very difficult to keep track of bugs when they are not in their own tickets.
However, please review the Bug Tracker Guidelines before creating new reports. Be sure to search for an existing issue as it is likely to have already been reported.
