Incomplete
I don't know which screenshots are from which version, and I cannot see a difference with my skin.

Nathan Adams

He's using the wrong model, his arms are one pixel too thin.

galaxy_2alex

Ah, I see now.

Not an issue really.

Suggestion 1 : You don't use the new 1.8 skin method on 1.8-pre 1

Suggestion 2 : If you read tutorials about 1.8 skin creation, all the tutorials are wrong.
I created my 1.8 skin with GIMP and a 3D skin view to see if it was good. You don't have to duplicate arm and leg to the new area for these parts : you have to do a little modification.
If you think it's a bug, so all the people that use the new method have to recreate theirs skins again.

The bug here is that the new model is being used by some skins when it actually shouldn't. The new model is only available for the new default skin.

I have this bug, too, in 1.8-pre1.

Yep, I have this aswell, this needs fixing

There's even a blank space in the skin customization menu where a toggle would fit very nicely.

I can confirm I am getting this as well in the 1.8-pre1 release. My player is supposed to have the normal 4 wide arms in the 1.8 skin.png file I created, but instead the arms are only 3 pixels wide, and it is lining up the skin on the arms incorrectly. I looked in the profile settings on the minecraft website, but did not see an option to choose which model I want. (I had read that will be an option on jebs twitter.)

Any instances of existing custom skins featuring a three pixel-wide arm are a bug, and will be fixed in the next pre-release.

And all my 2nd, "hat" texture layers are missing. I now look very weird...

migrated

I think this is because of the Girl model Skin, also i turn into it when unexpected...

Aw, you guys fixed this without adding the option to use the new model? I was using this bug so I could have a skin with the new model. lol
