The bug
If you attack wolves, they'll try to kill you. After; you are killed and spawn around 20+ away from the wolves; their eyes will remain red, but they won't attack you.
How to reproduce
Spawn some wolves and run:
/spawnpoint @s ~ ~ ~30Let them kill you, and go back to the wolves.
→ ❌ Their eyes will be red; but they don't attack you anymore.

@unknown, I am unable to reproduce this in 1.16 Pre-release 3 or later; would you mind sharing how you were able to reproduce the issue?
I have the sneaky suspicion that this is a duplicate. Although I have not personally found one as of yet.
