Framerate drop in 1.9 snapshots

I went from getting an average of 40-50 frames per second in minecraft 1.8.7, to now getting a consistent 12 fps with the new snapshot.

yeah I used to get ~200 fps and now I'm getting 70 with the same video settings...that doesn't mean much for me, but what about the people without newer computers?

Java 8u51
AMD Radeon 6700 series
MC 1.8.8: 220fps
MC 15w31a/b: 50 fps
MC 15w31c: 120 fps
Still lower than expected.
I also found out that if you stay longer in one area, the display_update gets bigger and bigger in the shift+F3 chart.

I noticed that reducing the size of the window from maximized/fullscreen gives a lot more FPS even if reduced as much as 3/4 of the screen, while on previous versions this method didn't help much.

I have the same problem. Was getting about 35 FPS in 1.8.8, and am now getting like 7 FPS in the snapshot 15w31c. Running windows 7 with Java 7 (64bit) and a pretty good computer.

Confirmed it happening in 15w32a. Lot of "Tried to add entity (whatever) with duplicate UUID" errors.

Here's my crash log:

Snapshots 15w39a-c fixed the issue for me: from 9 FPS to 12-23 FPS when moving, averaging 20 on already existing chunks, and that's even better than what I got with 1.8.8.

Why is this marked as 'fixed'? This is nowhere near fixed, in fact in later snapshots the lag has simply gotten worse. I am running a server with an i7 4790k CPU with 32 gigs of ram and 4 GHZ, but it lags tremendously in the newer snapshots when more than 4 or 5 people are online, compared to 1.8 where it could comfortably run around 20 or so. I think this should really be looked into, seeing as the server I have is supposed to be the best one for running Minecraft. Lag is a serious problem that no one likes to put up with. I cannot run any version later than 15w47c because of it.

@unknown

I am running a server ...

Framerate is a client issue. I think you mean MC-94438

"fixed"
I can't even play 1.9. After a few minutes of acceptable performances it goes down to 0-1 FPS for a few minutes. I just wait until the CPU is no longer struggling (it goes up to 100% usage) and then it runs ok for a few minutes, until it starts lagging again. And again.
It's unplayable, and this machine could run anything from beta 1.2 to release 1.8.

I already posted crash logs and such, in case you're wondering.

I appear to be experiencing this issue on my laptop, still up through 1.12. Downgrading repeatedly revealed the source to be the 1.9 snapshots, so I believe this is the issue. I have attached my crash report

. My graphics card is not listed in the description (it's Intel HD Graphics 5500 GL version 4.3.0). When viewing the deug pie chart, over 90% of processing is being used up in root>tick>textures>unspecified.

Attempting to update my drivers results in a message indicating they are up-to-date. As well, they don't seem particularly old or outdated. I would appreciate any help you guys can provide.
