[MCL-17030] Minecraft Launcher will not work; Always says "downloading"

There is a bug that has been going on since Feb. 22, 2021, and for some reason whenever I press launch on the Minecraft launcher, it just says in its loading position and the system recognizes it as "downloading," and I have proof in the image provided. I have tried loading Minecraft in 1.16, 1.8.9, and the launcher still won't load.

Edit: The Minecraft launcher works! However, it took a very long process to launch the Minecraft software. If you have the same problem, just wait for the launcher to load, even if it takes hours. For me, after I clicked "play," it probably around an hour and a half for the "downloading" process. Very weird bug, but all I had to do was wait for a long time and be patient with it.

Hi, immediately after you've experienced this issue please close down the launcher, and upload launcher_log.txt found in the Minecraft Data Folder. It will help us identify the cause.

Here you go! I hope it works! Just to remind you, this bug happened on my Mac desktop. I did play Minecraft for a while after I let my Minecraft launcher sit for a couple hours.

I have the same issue with a few differences

1. It doesn't load past the preparing stage, meaning there isn't any loading bar at all regardless of how long I leave it for

2. This issue happened directly start updating the launcher (on Ubuntu 20.10)

3. The only way I can get it to launch is my deleting any item, from the assets folder. It could be one item or the whole assets folder.

4. I have to repeat point 3 every time I want to launch Minecraft, this is also a problem other Ubuntu users have expressed in Reddit and other platforms too.

Hello friends, we released a new version of Minecraft Launcher yesterday that might have solved this issue. Would you mind going to Settings, enable using beta versions of the Launcher, restarting it and see if this issue persists?
