Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher

I downloaded the new launcher, the one that does not require Java to run, and installed minecraft. When I go to launch the game however I am unable to download the launcher. It says "Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher." My file "nativelog" says this:

I was told somewhere that it had to do with a conflict with an anti virus but I am really not sure.

I tried disabling the firewall for Minecraft, but that didn't work either.

This tells me that it tried to download that (very much-)binary file and it got back a web page. This cannot happen unless something is sitting in between - such as a proxy (like saying "hey, you need to log in!" or "I've blocked this because of reasons!"), firewall, antivirus or some kind of parental controls.

Yes I do. I currently have McAfee, which sucks, and Minecraft has full access to everything. That didn't work. I even tried removing Minecraft from the firewall list, which didn't work as well. Everytime I run a program that is not on the firewall list McAfee will force me to add it. I am considering switching my anti-virus or turning off my firewall temporarily.

I have a fix.

.minecraft - game - launcher.jar

just use that instead I tried it and it works fine.

Even after disabling my antivirus protection and turning off my firewall, it wouldn't work:/ Please help because I am literally the dumbest when it comes to technical stuff like this.
