After the new update curing villagers doesn’t make sense anymore as it’s only discounting -1 from item cost and emerald cost. Nobody is going to use this feature anymore and it’s different than Java were the discount is -5 emeralds per cure.
Parity change needs to be corrected as now the change is ridiculous. Should be offering something more consistent for players to be willing to go through the effort of curing a zombie villager.
Several members of this community spent countless hours and resources building the right trading hall and now that has been completely useless with this "fix".
Please Mojang make this right!!
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have an existing world with cured zombie villagers in Trading Hall (version 1.16 or lower). All villagers will have 1 emerald as costs for trading
2. Update minecraft to 1.16.100
Observed Results:
All villagers have -1 discount comparing to a regular villager
Expected Results:
Should have the right discount as they have been already cured

So true
pls mojang devs this needs to be fixed

One thing to add to information if you cure multiple villagers it is one emerald per villager you cure it stacks

This "fix" was absolutely horrific. All my cured villagers are practically "uncured" now that their trades barely even discount. Please fix this to actually match how it is on Java.

Villagers with increased prices don't even come down to base prices when curing. This is horrific.

OK I found out what the issue is. Most of you guys must be using the 16 block cube villager cure mechanism in order to get one emerald trade. That op mechanism will not give you one emerald trades now. In order to get one emerald trades, now the player has to individually cure every single villager who has a workstation in the trading hall 4 to 5 times (I have tested this in a creative world btw). I would highly recommend you not use the 16 block cube to give discounts to other villagers in that area which the villagers has been cured. Cuz that is cause to give only -1 discount every cure. So it's up to you if you want to use the 16 block cube mechanism or individually curing every single villager who has a workstation.

All of my villagers have all been individually cured once, yet they only provide a 1 emerald discount.

@unknown have you cured all your villagers in 1.16.40 Hotfix or 1.16.100?. The only reason I'm asking is because, I cured every single villager in my trading hall in 1.16.40 Hotfix and one cure if enough to get to one emerald price trade. And after when I updated to 1.16.100, all my villagers trades are 32 26. In 1.16.100 update, now we have to cure villagers 4 to 5 times in order to downgrade their prices to one emerald. That's the only way. This is not a bug, unless if the 16 block cube "talking" mechanism has not match with the Java edition.

The new trading discount seems to be inconsistent among platforms. I've tested it on iOS and it works basically like Java (except this bug I found MCPE-106839), but on Xbox one there are complaints that after multiple cures the discount is still -1 (see this Reddit link).

if you cure one multiple times it goes down with each cure for example 1 cure for one emerald discount 2 cure for 2 emerald discount i tested on all platforms with the same results

GinePik we are talking about 1.16.100 and in java it is about a 9 emerald discount in bedrock it is 1 see they do not match also the gossip discount mechanic is also not in bedrock

@unknown I have tested both in java and bedrock about what you said and in java its -6 discount in one cure and not -9. In bedrock its -6 discount in one cure as well (that is the parity implemented on bedrock). The only way your able to get -1 discount is due to the bedrock "talking" mechanism which spreads the discount prices in a 33 wide 33 long and 34 tall area. That is how other villagers get -1 trade every cure.
For Example:-
I have 2 villagers in my trading hall. One is a librarian and another is a tool smith. I saw the librarian trade 24 paper for one emerald. I decided to convert him to a zombie villager and cure him. After the first cure, his price were lower down to 24 to18 paper for one emerald (-6 discount only). The tool smith villager saw me do this curing progress because, he was in the vicinity of the 33 wide 33 long and 34 tall area and decided to give -1 discount only. This is not the java edition's gossip system. This is bedrock's talking system. So the original villager that i cured first got -6 discount, but the villager that i didn't even cure gave me -1, because he was in the vicinity of 33 wide 33 long and 34 tall area.
This is what is happening in 1.16.100 and i don't know if the talking system should give -6 discount every cure or -1. I hope you understood by what i mean.

I agree but i have tested and from my testing even the one cured only lowers one emerald i hope that makes scence i think that more testing may be required

@unknown i agree with what you say.

Please update the bug report so we can get this fixed

Weronika this was updated as requested. Please verify and don't closed as resolved without a proper resolution.
Just to make sure I understand this correctly, here's what I did:
1. I spawned two villagers in 1.16.0, turned one of them into a zombie villager and cured it. Both villagers' prices dropped to 1 emerald/item for everything, which was a bug (MCPE-70782) that is now fixed in 1.16.100.
2. I updated the game to 1.16.100 and both villagers had a -1 discount on everything.
3. I turned the cured villager into a zombie villager and cured it again. It got a -6 discount on everything, while the other villager got a -1 discount, which is consistent with how this works in Java.
So, the expected results would be:
villagers affected by MCPE-70782 have a -6 discount for every time they have been cured before the fix;
other villagers in the village have a -1 discount for every time they have seen the player cure a villager before the fix;
curing villagers in 1.16.100 grants a -6 discount for the cured villager and a -1 discount for other villagers.
Could you please confirm if this is correct?

@unknown
While we all understand that it was OP previously there's consensus in the community that getting -1 in all of our villages after the update was a blowback as we've investing countless hours and resources creating the trading halls.
Expected Results (as this is a parity change)
1. The expected results in step #2 of your comments is have a more balanced discount for each villager and not only a -1 discount because this is almost the same as regular villagers. In my case I've cured all the villagers in the trading hall one by one before the update and everything was lost. At least it should be grating -6 discounts and not -1 as they have been cured one time.
2. Gossip mechanism should be the same as Java and based on the feedback from the community that doesn't work in bedrock. In your test can you increase the number of villagers to make sure it's spreading correctly and similar to Java?
3. This mechanism should be consistent on all bedrock platforms and can only provide feedback for Windows 10 PC but there are other members in this ticket reporting issues and disparity in different plaforms while being on bedrock.

@unknown Yes. What you said in the comment is correct.

The expected results: The gossip mechanism brings down surrounding villager trades farther than -1 (perhaps to -6)
I have spent countless hours building a trading hall just before the update. The 'fix' in 1.16.100 ruined all the clerics that I had put in it because am I seriously going to cure to be able to trade 31 rotten flesh instead of 32?
