@unknown
I created the very first report on a strange item, but did not know that when the "Education Edition" was turned on, it looks different. And when you reported this (although you did not describe how you received it, but I guessed and wrote it down), the moderators decided that since this is the same item (item.glow_frame), it was added to this report (I added).
It resembles a broken heart of the sea though. Check and see if the heart of the sea is still there.
Indeed, it does seem to be different between worlds, on creation. On the same world, it always has the same texture for me.
I think it would be interesting to see if it uses the same texture for all players in multiplayer.
Guys, I think I know what this is. The internal identifier for this thing is "item.glow_frame"; The "Glow Frame" was first added to the MCBE in 1.16.210.59, but was temporarily removed after one patch due to a bug that caused the game to crash. It was then reintroduced in 1.16.200.52 with Goat and Snowpowder, during which time the bug started to appear (1.16.200.50) around this time. So it's reasonable to suspect that the bug is because the tester fail to p clean up the base code the first time they removed the glow item and that's it
Can confirm, this "broken block" also let the player break blocks but theres no texture or name
