[MCPE-120365] Elytra sound not playing

When the elytra are used to glide there is no sound.

How to reproduce [original report]

Equip an elytra
Start gliding
No sound is played

Expected behaivor:
A sound is played while gliding with the elytra

Steps to reproduce [from @unknown]:

Build a 10 * 10 area of nether blocks that burn all the time (Soul Soil, Netherrack, Soul Sand).
Set all these blocks on fire.
Stand in the center for 5 seconds.
Fly on elytra.

Notes:

There will also be no half of other sounds such as switching tabs in the inventory, extinguishing fires, etc.

Can you check the sound settings in-game to see if a sound slider may be set very low (or to 0)

I can confirm this on the PS4 - same behavior/symptoms. It started after installing the PS4 1.16.210 update on 3/9/21.

Can you please upload a video of this happening? Also, what device are you using? Have you checked on more than one? Asking because you selected Multiple platforms.
I have no repro on this so far.

Actually, 1.16.210 fixed this for me on Android. It is working correctly now.

Edit: It seems sometimes I get the elytra sound and sometimes I don't in 1.16.210.

Hi, found this report after experiencing a similar issue. Running Windows 10, version 1.16.210, on a realm. Repeatedly no sound during elytra flight (including after checking sound sliders). Checked on local world having found this report, and so having reloaded minecraft and sound played as expected. I rejoined the realm and again, sound played as expected. If it happens again I will attempt to capture it on video.

Short clip of silent elytra flight, v 1.16.210, playing on a realm on windows 10. Very repeatable within a single session, but relogging onto the realm (without restarting minecraft) resulted in normal elytra flight sounds.

I found the reason. Very large sound reproduction. At least works with fire.
Tested on both android (1.16.210) and windows 10 (1.16.220.52).
