Hello, thanks for the new update btw. The community would love to see the amount of grass and flowers being tweaked on bedrock versions. Some places and biomes on the game lack grass which is kinda weird to be honest, specially there are new mountains now. I saw a screenshot of side by side comparison of java and bedrock edition, Please check.

This may be a duplicate of [MCPE-19115]. Generally there is less grass in the bedrock so that the productivity is higher. Large amounts of grass can severely hinder productivity. However, since this could be a real parity problem. It is up to the mojang to decide.
Thank you for your report!

I can confirm this happens since 0.15.0 (from 2016), and still happens in 1.21.31 (from 2024), so it's an 8 years old bug ๐
I can confirm this has been fixed in 1.21.60.23, as world now generates more grass, like Java does.ย
Thank you so much for fixing this! Now please fix MCPE-121708, MCPE-165424,ย MCPE-188463,ย MCPE-188479, MCPE-46176 and MCPE-7990ย and I will play again dailyย ; )
While the changes to grass distribution in 1.21.60.23 do look significantly better, Java still has way more grass. From what I've observed:
Sunflowers generate less frequently in MCPE.
Grass generates more spread out in MCPE .
There is less tall grass in MCPE in general compared to Java.
There are more dense clumps of grass in Java than MCPE
I hope the team takes the time over multiple previews to fine tune grass generation.
Confirmed, this is a Java Parity feature for Bedrock
