The breaking animation when breaking blocks in Survival mode is too dark. In both Bedrock and Java editions, the destroy_stage
texture files are identical, yet it still appears darker in the Bedrock Edition.
What I expected to happen was...:
The block breaking animation would appear lighter, like how it used it many years ago and how it does on the Java Edition.
What actually happened was...:
Instead, it appeared very dark.
Steps to Reproduce:
Load a world
Switch to Survival mode
Begin breaking a block
Notice how dark the breaking animation appears

This is actually a quite an old bug, and the tree particles are incorrect.
Relates to MCPE-34795.
Also there's a bug with breaking slabs and stairs, where the "breaking" animation plays the bock animation and the parts where there isn't anything just becomes a non-physical grey wall
Seems like the blending mode used is wrong, or something similar, because the textures are identical

I just realized something, and I believe that Java's breaking overlay is the one that is broken, because on Java breaking overlay render extremely weirdly on translucent blocks such as ice for example, and doesn't render properly on grass block side, same happens on Legacy Console Edition, but doesn't happen on Bedrock, and also the way overlay looks in-game on Java doesn't make sense if you compare it to the texture of it, and Bedrock's one is completely fine and looks really nice, so Java's breaking overlay needs to be changed to match Bedrock instead of changing Bedrock's one, and this bug report should be marked as works as intended.

Can confirm 1.21.60.23.

Still an issue. The MC Bedrock block breaking animation feels so cheap

Still affects 1.21.60.25 preview

The one on Java looks weird, breaking overlay on Bedrock is perfect, it looks like actual cracking and has a bit more transparent shadow below it to simulate depth, while on Java that shadow is brighter than the original block for some reason, which doesn’t make any sense, even in compare to breaking overlay texture itself, also breaking overlay on Java is broken on the ice blocks, and is applied twice on grass block sides, and none of these issues are in Bedrock, in my opinion overlay is broken on Java and not on Bedrock.
Notice how you punch the birch tree on the Bedrock edition it shows the top/bottom breaking textures instead of the bark.
