Nintendo Switch: Marketplace/Skins Don't Work

EDIT: The issue has been resolved for me, please check the comments. It seems deleting the game data, reinstalling, logging out and BACK IN to your microsoft account fixed my skins AND marketplace problems!

This issue was happening before the most recent update, but now it's all but ruined my desire to play.

My marketplace has NEVER loaded fully, ever since I got my Switch and this game. I was able to purchase skins but could never see them until I went to create a character with them, or I could see previews of the skins but not the details.

The day before version 1.18.30 was released, I was no longer able to use my skins, only the character creator. It would not allow me to equip a skin and would frequently open the side bar where you create characters every time I went to select something, a feature that I don't remember seeing before and do not see now after the update.

Speaking of, today after installing the update, things have gotten worse. Marketplace does not open at all (selecting and hitting A on marketplace from the main screen does nothing), and I cannot even edit the character I was forced to create when my skins stopped working. Both the Edit Character and Create Character buttons are grayed out completely. Screenshots for all three events are attached.

I do not get error messages, things just cease to work and it's preventing me from playing. PLEASE HELP!

I'm also experiencing this issue in Bedrock (PC). I get the following message when trying to access marketplace "Invalid session (try restarting your game)" even after restarting my game. I've also tried logging out and logging back into my account with no effect.

Also having this problem on the Switch. Clicking the Marketplace button on the splash screen makes noise, but does not do anything. I can select Play, and that goes to the next screen, but Marketplace is greyed out, and an error pops up if I try to select it - attached.

Software restart & system power cycle have not helped. I am currently attempting a software reinstall....

A fresh install (delete software & redownload from eShop) has allowed me to access the Marketplace, AND all of my character "dressing room" options load - including the thumbnail images.

The fresh install did NOT correct the awful-to-nonexistant chunk/sound loading/rendering & the game is still freezing & unplayable, but that's a different ticket.

Based on Cathy9887’s comment, I have also tried deleting and redownloading Minecraft on my Switch after encountering this issue. Initially, the issue still occurred but after restarting the game, it now seems to be fixed for me as well.

It still does not work.  No wait, I'll correct it: IT HAS NEVER WORKED.  It's so annoying.

This is not fixed, reopen the ticket please

I've had this issue for months now. Reinstalling sometimes fixes it for the current session only but I'm not waiting 30min to reinstall the game every time I wanna play. Sometimes I'm lucky and it'll load on its own but it's complete chance. Please reopen this. It's not fixed, we just get lucky sometimes.

This issue is now being tracked at MCPE-155025.

I can reliably reproduce this and reliably avoid it with v1.19.31 on Nintendo Switch. To avoid it, just let the game sit on the title screen for a minute or two before you attempt to access the Marketplace or Dressing Room.

Just waiting until your Microsoft Account is logged in is not long enough; you must let it sit for a minute or so after that. I haven’t measured the exact duration, and I suspect but am not at all certain that it will vary based on internet speed; I suspect the wait is required for a data download to finish. But I could be wrong.
