After a recent update I have been unable to edit my skin or open the marketplace. It seems to be similar to a nintendo switch bug that was recently resolved. I have tried signing in and out of my account, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times. The problem was briefly solved in version 1.18.30, but it stopped working again after the most recent update.
edit: I have potentially found a solution. After logging into my Win 10 minecraft with the glitched marketplace I closed the game. Next I logged onto my same microsoft account on my phone. It sucessfully logged in with a working marketplace, and then I closed the mobile version. I then booted up the Win 10 version, and after a slightly longer load time it booted it up with a working marketplace/skin editor. I have not had the problem on other platforms, but it could be caused by having an account active/not-active on multiple devices.
edit 2: The fix in the previous edit no longer works, still unable to access marketplace.
edit 3: I think it has something to do with the combined launcher as i have launched the game straight from the minecraft app and the glitch happens 50% less(it still happens frequently)

I have same problem can't open market or edit skin

It used to be solved by just restarting the game but this recent update made it so that doesn't even work. Hopefully this gets fixed asap.

My problem is slightly different but Mojang says this is the same issue so leaving my comment—- for mine, I can open marketplace but everything is stuck with loading circles for every thumbnail and nothing can be previewed at all. No matter what you do or how long you wait, it doesn’t load.

yep, same for me on WIN10 edition, marketplace and skins aren't letting me access to them, i have no skin in my worlds, just steve or alex, and whenever i try to click the marketplace it says "Invalid Session! Marketplace Unavailable. (Try restarting your launcher)" I do restart it, several times, but it makes no difference.

I have the same issue, and you know, would be kinda cool to have it fixed. I tried everything even updating all my derivers. Also this affects connecting to featured servers

I am getting this issue as well. All day yesterday (june 12) I was able to uninstall and then reinstall windows 10 to play it, but if I closed it and reopened it the bug came back. Today even reinstalling doesn't help

To add to my comment, right now it is working for me to close minecraft on my computer, open the phone version with the same account signed in and then close it, and then it will work properly on my computer

Seeing this on my Xbox one… not the most problematic issue, but it’s annoying. It also works on my phone while using the same internet… very odd.

I'm pretty sure this is a server issue, becouse all the bugs are suposed to be files sent from a server (most likely xbox live or another dedicated server), now that I thought about it, it's a dedicated server, becouse xbox live works and I can log in on my xbox, and it gets the data that is used in other games like your gamertag and profile pic. So this is either an internet connection issue, a server issue, or just microsoft flaged my ip to be from russia (i'm from Lithuania, and Lithuania has a border with Kaliningrad and Belarus wich is basicaly russia by this point)

Has to be a permissions issue. I deleted cache files from Microsoft Store and It started working. Restarted my pc and tried again in the morning and were back to the same crap.

Not sure if this information can help in any way but I tried creating a new user on my pc, installed the game over there and tried to launch it with the same account. Still having the issue where the skin doesn't load and the marketplace won't open.

I've been having this issue since 1.18. Sometimes going to app settings and hitting terminate will resolve the issue until you close the game and reopen it. That worked for a little while then that wouldn't even work anymore. I've tried logging out of my account and back in... doesn't fix it. I've also tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it and that didn't fix the issue either. Then, all of a sudden, for a few days I wasn't having any issues with marketplace not wanting to load or my custom skin. Everything worked as it should. Then today, I opened the game and the same issue as before. So, I tried terminating the game and all related processes. Both my custom skin and marketplace loaded. Hopefully, this information will help.

I am having this same issue on Minecraft for Windows. I cannot click on the marketplace without the error "invalid session" - I also cannot load any skins.
This extend to in-game as well and I cannot do ANY /commands when joining someone else's game - no matter who hosts. All permissions are set correctly and I am not the only person I know personally with these exact issues.
I have tried:
Restarting the game
Restarting my computer
Logging out entirely from my Microsoft account and logging back in
Uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game
Clearing the cache (this SORT OF works - when I close the game and come back to it the error returns)

When I first reported this issue, something happened within the first 24 hours and my skins were fixed on all devices-- ps4, mobile, and windows. But only a few weeks after, the windows version started having issues again. Both playstation and mobile have been fine, loading the marketplace and all skins (except for my uploaded skin file from pc) with no issue. Right now, only windows is continuing to have the problem. Once in a blue moon, the stars will align and my skins will load, but these moments are becoming rarer and rarer.
Similar to other reports, uninstalling/reinstalling the game, restarting the pc, refreshing the game, have not worked.

Was playing yesterday with no issues. I started up the game today and now I can't use the marketplace or change to any skin that I had previously purchased.

I have these issues too, it's incredibly annoying as I'm set to the Alex default skin.
I've tried restarting, reinstalling, clearing cache, swapping to mobile and back, so far nothing. I can access servers just fine, yet I am unable to access the marketplace or the skin editor. Curiously, the marketplace loses the error notice on the home page after loading into a world and back out, but clicking on it does nothing, and the marketplace in-world remains errored out.

This has also been going on with my minecraft as well for like a month and I tried everything to fix it but nothing will work. I'm set to an Alex skin and can't get into my own skins. Also I can't get in to my market place as well. This is happening on my mobile and its getting quite frustrating.

I have the same bug on Switch; can't access to the Marketplace and my skins never load, it also say I have 0 minecoins. When I resinatll the game, it's working for the first time bug when I restart it's again not working properly. It's really annoying.

I have this problem on ONE of my phones (Pixel 5), but not on my Pixel 2. I don't have Minecraft on any other platforms, so I'm unable to try the fixes involving other platforms.

I have been fighting this issue on my Nintendo Switch since 1.19.10, it has been an absolute pain to deal with.

About a week ago the Marketplace button suddenly became available on my Pixel 5. Idk what changed; there wasn't an update. But I can access the Marketplace just fine now.

I have a fix for PC:
It works if you use a VPN.
I use a free vpn called ProtonVPN.
Whenever you connect to a VPN before starting the game and when the game is running. The problem will be solved.

Quite an annoying issue - hopefully mojang can fix it soon.
EDIT- A VPN does seem to sort out the issue for PC users however this is still a problem for people who use other devices.

This happens to me on bedrock only and the solution is when you log into an account.

The Nintendo switch bug has not been resolved, its infuriating me that it's be labelled so. The work around of reinstalling the game, works occasionally, if you're lucky, and requires you to do it every time. This has been going on for weeks now. I've not been able to load any of my purchased content. I also haven't been able to have anyone join me to play, either. The help has been absolutely zero, and this constant pushing the myth it's resolved just illustrates that. At present the game is absolutely unplayable and a worthless piece of garbage.

I have been having this bug for months, occasionally getting lucky and being able to access skins and the marketplace. Hope it gets patched soon but I feel like they'll patch it in around 1.19.30.

I have had this bug for months as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The Switch Minecraft is in need of a major update. It also randomly logs you out of your Microsoft account among other things. Once you finally get logged into a world, it's usually pretty stable.

i have a problem on nitendo switch 1.19.22, they say it was resolved, but link to a issue diferent to mine. Is that problem that you account it's no loaded but you can acces to the marketplace, see the content, but when you try to download something, it says : We have problems to conect to store. Try to log in several times and nothing happen. I can't play servers and realms. It's like you're logged in but not in the same time. how explain the system say that your need a account active to use realms and servers, but load the store and dressing room without a active session?, it's weird

I must have opened and closed my game on my switch 10 times today already, and it only loaded the marketplace and my skins ONCE. I put it to sleep to get food, came back, it errored out and closed, and my skins are gone again...

I found a way to temporarily get it working again. Which is to go to my software and check Minecraft for corrupted data, and then redownload.
But i have to do this every single time i want to play Minecraft and it takes a lot of time to redownload.

I have been experiencing the same bug on my iOS installation for many months. It randomly works once out of every maybe 50 launches, but the rest of the time I get the “Playfab environment mismatch” error. No known workaround.

Still cannot access store or skins after 1.19.30 update, I've only find this issue on Mobile devices, I can connect to Marketplace and view my skins correctly only on Windows 10 starting Bedrock through Minecraft Launcher, even before this update.

Confirming that this hotfix has resolved the issue on Nintendo Switch. I'm now able to connect to the marketplace.

This issue still persists on Android 10.

Last night I tried to connect once again on Android 11 and both Marketplace and Skin editor worked again and still working now on my two Android 11 devices. I tried after receiving a push notification of the Frozen Planet DLC lauch and as if by magic the game was working fine. Maybe all this was a server-side problem?

Just Bought it a few days and its so overwhelming that I encountered this bug right of the bat. My issue revolves, when it is connected to Wi-Fi. My marketplace and dressing room is broken. The marketplace and the dressing room only works when using data and I can't waste my data all the time just to play Minecraft. Please Mojang fix this!

I can reliably reproduce this and reliably avoid it with v1.19.31 on Nintendo Switch. To avoid it, just let the game sit on the title screen for a minute or two before you attempt to access the Marketplace or Dressing Room.
Just waiting until your Microsoft Account is logged in is not long enough; you must let it sit for a minute or so after that. I haven’t measured the exact duration, and I suspect but am not at all certain that it will vary based on internet speed; I suspect the wait is required for a data download to finish. But I could be wrong.

I tried the method explained by @75th but after 10 minutes, nothing changed for me. Still not working, on iOS, app version 1.19.40.

I literally just purchased and downloaded minecraft on my windows 10 computer a minute ago. I am getting the invalid session error.

This fixed for me when I launched the game from the Minecraft Launcher instead of directly from its own executable.

I have been having this issue for over 6 months now with Bedrock - I can't use ANY commands and I cannot access the marketplace or change my character skin. I also cannot play any purchased worlds, which really sucks and is now a waste of money. It's super annoying because I do a ton of multiplayer with friends and they don't have this issue.

I had this issue a bit ago as well, it stopped but now it's back again. Really irritating because I've been trying to stream with my friend for days now but it won't work.

Experienced this recently on IOS in one of the previews (don't remember which preview specifically) and restarting the game did NOT fix it, I was completely incable of changing my skin loading a character or accessing the marketplace. I've also experienced this on Xbox, but usually a simple restart would fix it

I have had this issue for a while but I think I have fixed it. I'm not exactly sure how but I think it's either turning off your vpn/antivirus software or turning off private dns for your WiFi in settings and turning it back on. After that clear your Minecraft app data. Hope this helps.

If you are unable to join your friend or they are unable to join you, your friend list may be 'corrupted'. Just unfriend them or tell your friend to unfriend you, depending on who it's affecting. Hope this works as it fixed the issue for my friend.

What the hell happened? This issue was resolved! Now it's back and worse than ever.

Just started having this issue on the Switch 2 days ago. Only one of my accounts is having this issue and if I login with that account under the Android version, it works fine.
I've tried logging out and clearing cache, reinstalling, and restarting the Switch and the issue persists.
I've logged in with other accounts on the same Switch with no issues.

There is a fix to this, when you are on the main screen just wait for a minute or so and it should log in and the session invalid error should refresh with the real marketplace button, otherwise, restart the game and redo the process. Worked for me when this happened.

My son is also having this issue on his Nintendo Switch.
We recently bought the Dinosaur Pack from the Nintendo e-store, which came with a number of add-ons and some minecoins, then about one day after this, we started encountering problems with his existing skins having totally disappeared and then his minecoins balance was reduced to zero, he wasn't able to access the add-ons, (although since through contacting Minecraft Help) these can now be accessed and his minecoins balance has been restored. However, when he went to try and create a new skin this morning, when trying to add different types of arms or legs, the preview screen just won't load.
All a bit pointless, as the whole reason of buying this pack in the first place was for the minecoins that came with it, so that he could create some new skins and now he can't even do that. I may just contact my credit card provider and request a chargeback if this isn't resolved shortly and then never bother buying any minecraft add-ons from the Nintendo e-store again.

Update: I tried installing it on my other phone a Samsung (Galaxy A02s) and the version is 1.20 I believe- It's still there I got rid of my Microsoft account thinking it was that, it was not and my peanut brain thought it was. It's pretty weird...on the Samsung phone it has the same problem that I reported a week ago..and I'm not even logged in anymore

Potential workaround for Switch players: In settings archive the game and redownload, for me only took about ten minutes. Probably not a permanent fix but I haven't tested yet.
Edit: After closing & reopening the game I found the bug is still fixed for me, let me know if this works for you.

Also having this problem with the switch. When I go in on my account (switch owner) the store will pop up after a minute or so and I can access skins. However, if my child logs on under their account (child account on switch), no marketplace or skins are available. They are just all grayed out. No other accounts on the switch can access the skins when loading Minecraft. I've tried re-downloading the game multiple times an clearing the cache from the switch accounts.

After my testing, modifying DNS to 4.4.4.1 and 4.4.4.2 is an effective solution, especially when your network is unstable.

Sometimes when I log into the game I am unable to play realms or access the Market place + Servers but when closing the game and opening up again it works just fine besides the realms taking it's sweet time to load sometimes I have to open a world up then leave it for the realms to show up

@ECKOSOLDIER Please be advised that since you are playing on PC, the marketplace depends on the Microsoft Store to work. The problem that you are having cannot be solved by Mojang. You must fix the Microsoft Store on your own - this can be done through third-party methods that Mojang has no control over.

After the update they did everything worked just fine..
It wasn't until two weeks ago my skin stopped loading and I slipped it aside cause it could be bug and it happens all the time..but now it's happening again, same situation as this and the one I reported a couple months ago (you can see it on my account).

Although it is a Nintendo switch version, you can now open the marketplace by organizing the data and downloading the software again.

I tried with my old phone Xiaomi Redmi note 4 and install Minecraft either WiFi nor Mobile data I can access those features online (marketplace, dressing room, server, e.t.c) 😀. Maybe this happen for those who are using a higher android or iOS version.

Hello friends. I'm on version 1.20.30 my marketplace is greyed out and displays the error text: Playfab environment mismatch - Discovery=Prod/20CA2, Playfab=Production/
My character skin is forever loading and when I go into the Dressing Room, I have no saved skins and the Create Character button is greyed out.
I've tried uninstalling mods, uninstalling and reinstalling the game (didn't even save my worlds, rip), disconnecting and reconnecting to the internet, signing out and signing back in to my account.

There is a fix for this problem. When you are on the main screen just wait for a minute or so and it should log in and the session invalid error should refresh with the real marketplace button, otherwise, restart the game and redo the process. Worked for me when this happened.

None of the suggested solutions are working for me. On top of that, today I have a new layer to the problem. It's having a hard time connecting to my account. See screenshot. What is going on? Why does it hate me (sometimes you just have to be dramatic)? Why did this update mess me up?

I've discovered that, for me, it's likely a WiFi configuration issue. I don't get this issue when I switch to mobile data. So I gotta figure that out.

Hi @radcoolsteve30, if you check the title of this thread the problem is due to one of the latest updates and has definetly not been resolved by any further updates. My grandson has not been able to access the Marketplace, in which he has invested pocket money, for over 3 months now (MCPE-176573). We have never had a Mojang account, the only sign-in requested on Nintendo Switch was for our Nintendo Account and we had full access to the Marketplace. We were then, presumably after an update, required to open/link a Microsoft Account, but I cannot recall on opening this account being asked for our Nintendo password. I think that is when the problem started. I don't understand how the Microsoft account can possibly link to his original Marketplace account.
Maybe someone else can throw some light on this matter and I strongly request the Minecraft team to provide a remedy as there must be a lot of credit out there which has been lost.

Hello - my issue is exactly as beejay180 said - my son has put a lot of time and money into the marketplace, and all of a sudden it is not working and we keep getting that B-0010 error code and we have tried everything! So frustrating! Mojang, PLEASE put together a bug fixer for this software update, as I think the update could have been the issue!

play on Nintendo switch and i can confirm that the issue is very much still present, or at the very least has reared it's ugly head again, and i am currently unable to edit my skins or update my texture packs despite being signed into my microsoft account and everything. The animated headers for the marketplace seem to be unaffected now, i suppose, so i can see they are doing a jurassic world crossover, but i can't load into the marketplace itself, i just get an error message and get told it's still trying to connect.

My Microsoft Account is properly linked. The Marketplace button is active (not grayed out) but I get the error B-0010 when I try to load it. The issue is not my connection. I went through steps of restarting my router, testing connection, trying to use different connections. Nothing works.
Dressing room shows only two characters. It doesn't let me switch between them since all are marked as "This is your current caracter".
I didn't uninstall the game since I'm not sure if my worlds are backed up. The information on the Minecraft Help page about the "Save Data Cloud" don't match what I see in my Nintendo Switch. Since other players have reported that reinstalling doesn't fix the problem, I'm waiting for a bug fix from Mojang...

Minecraft on Nintendo Switch has been super buggy since the new update. takes forever to log into Microsoft and a pop-up saying "Communication error occurred" happens every time you open the game. The skins never load. Realms don't work either. Images on the server list tab don't load. I've tried reinstalling the game and checking for corrupt data but nothing works. Also when joining worlds, text at the top appears saying some weird stuff. Does anyone know how to fix this? (Edit: I also never turned on experimental changes)

a solution temporary for android is , try delete cache of marketplace in settings , close minecraft, delete minecraft cache in app settings and open minecraft , wait while character creator skin load correctly and marketplace work again

I am having the same issue. None of my skins will load on Switch OR Bedrock PC. It either says they are all loading, or it shows the blank character slot with the create/edit character button greyed out. It will also get stuck on the dressing room screen. So, after visiting the dressing room to try and get a skin to work, I then can no longer back out to the main menu unless I close the game and boot it back up. On switch, it will sometimes allow me to try and edit a character, but it does not show my purchased items. PC does show my purchased items on the rare occurrence that I can view them. All of these issues started when I did the most recent update.

I seem to get this issue when only trying to use the "None" option on the eyes.
So far managed to get the character "back" after closing the game and re-opening it then clicking on any of the featured items below the characters.

No one I saw said Xbox Version so adding comment for current XB V 1.20 as of 5-28-2024.
Been trying to get it to work for about 3 months on an XB One S. Connected Via Wi-Fi. No restrictions set on console. Tested both while nothing else was connected to network and with network congestion (19+ devices both wired and wireless). Also tested while wired. No issues with any other programs or games.
Multiple Ms accounts tested, that both have and do not have XBL membership. Other XB consoles do work, with said accounts.
Deleted all user data and re-synced, no change. Also tried without re-sync. So no data.
I've been trying to set up a Lan game with my daughter, and she wants her pretty avatar to work on her console, or at bare minimum be able to select basic Alex as her skin.
The ms account she's using is the email I registered this forum account to. Can you look into it. Thanks.

That happened to me but on 1.21.2, however it only happened at night today. I also had other issues which are the option to sign out is gone, and unable to connect to realms, minecoin balance got reset to 0. all these only happened at night for me
update: minecoin balance loaded back, also the texture pack i brought didnt load, i think the marketplace having issues

I try ussing a vpn, and that works for a few days (with a lot of ping, of course) as someone on reddit suggested, but now even that doesn't work and its so annoying. Can anyone who had the problem years ago play today? Or do we already assume that we will not play Minecraft again in the following months/years?

As of 1.21.20, the Marketplace cannot be opened only on Switch, and purchased DLC cannot be opened. Also, the value of Mine Coin is not displayed.

I am getting this error on my my child's switch with marketplace not loading and failing to load character message when opening the game. Market throws up error c-0010 and reinstalling, clearing marketplace cache and signing in and out of Microsoft doesn't work. Please fix this issue or my son will literally cry

apparently it was patched on switch but I have this issue on there. The game refuses to load up marketplace and will usually spit up either the C-0010 or E-0020 error. tried everything but it still refused to load 70% of the time. Does anyone have a fix?

I've been playing on the switch and Xbox. The bug is present on multiple platforms. I experience it on the following devices:
XboxOne
XboxS
2 switches
2 switch lites
It duplicates for me with both the physical game cards and the license install (digital download).
It duplicates on multiple internet networks.
Signing in and out of Microsoft account doesn't resolve.
Unintall and reinstall, no resolve.
Clear marketplace cache, no resolve
I've gone as far to factory reset the devices to no resolve.
I could understand defective device as a consideration, but on 6 devices? Unlikely.
I have no issues with the internet for other games on the same devices.
The factors at play are Microsoft and code. I've ruled out device and network.
This is a game with a huge following, it's disappointing to feel like the developers are abandoning us. I'm just now commenting, but I've been having this issue for what feels like a year.
We are a minecraft family, and we would live to see this fixed!

Potential fix (in case it helps anyone)
These issues started when I switched to a new ISP. Microsoft Teams and Minecraft marketplace and character were not functioning unless I got off the WiFi or enabled a VPN. After a bit of troubleshooting, I discovered that the issue was caused by the "IPv6 Router Advertisement" being enabled on the router provided by the ISP. When enabled, devices running Android and Chromebook default to using IPv6 but for some reason fail to reach sites like Microsoft's login "login.microsoftonline.com
".
The fix was to DISABLE "IPv6 Router Advertisement" in the router.
If you don't know how to do that, you could contact your ISP. Alternatively, you could try to find your router manual if you're comfortable with accessing the admin interface and know where to find credentials.
To establish whether this is your issue, try the following:
Enable a VPN (free one ProtonVPN) and restart Minecraft. If everything works, your wifi/router/internet could be the culprit.
If you are on a mobile phone, go off wifi and restart Minecraft. If everything works, your wifi/router/internet could be the culprit.
Use the command line to test connectivity. For Android/Chromebook, you will need to install Termux from the Play Store and then run the command
pkg install inetutils
to install the network utilitytelnet
.
Now check the connection by running "telnet login.microsoftonline.com 443
"
If you see something like the one below, then you potentially have that issue

In my case, I fixed the issue by reverting the private IP on the router back to default like 192.168.1.xxx.

Hello, I'm using v1.21.22 on Xbox One
I'm having this issues as well. Only noticed it recently after resetting my Xbox and reinstalling Minecraft and realizing that I had to redownload a template I purchased from Marketplace to continue my world, only now I am unable as I got Error code F-0010 (with the wandering trade/llama pixel screen). It says it cannot detect an Internet connection, but I am connected (I ran the test)

@unknown, I have the same story. After reseting xbox I now keep getting this error. Tried reinstalling, changing connection via mobile provider w/o ip6 - no luck.

In my case what had helped is I updated xbox firmware (there was pending update). After this all became working again, just as it never happened.
