As the title states. If you're making a custom character, and select "None" for the eyes to make a headwear the new head, the game will lock up any inputs in the character creator, and if you restart the game,that specific character will infinitely load and be unselectable/deletable, creating a corrupt slot that is no longer usable.

Go to "eyes" in the "body" tab

Download the preview on Windows and head to the skin editor before logging in inside Minecraft. Once you let all the characters load, exit to the menu and log into your account. After that, it's possible that your skins loaded, delete them and make new characters.
This is not a fix, is a workaround for being able to make your characters, but the "none" option for the eyes will still corrupt the whole thing.

A shame because that's the one I use on all my character slots. For reference I'm running Bedrock on switch ver 1.20.81. Tried a few times and I'm only experiencing it with this not other types (such as dots, the normal excited variant, etc)

It didn't restore my previous characters as they were (it restored them as Alexes) but it got the character slots back and that's all I wanted. I had to try a few times on one of the slots, but it did work, thank you very much.

figured it out need to delete all skin data in skin files and also all existing skins and start fresh to get skins to load properly
