Pausing the game doesn't really pause it

Still an issue in 1.2.0.9 - Even with multiplayer disabled, the game doesn't pause when escape is pressed.

Confirmed in Windows 10 1.2.0.31 (Better Together Beta), however, the game does pause when it loses focus.

Bug or not, this is an incredible nuisance for a Java veteran like myself. It makes me not want to play. Please consider changing this behavior.

how can you say this is working as intended this bug is making the game unplayable as every time you need to pause the game you have to exit fully out of the world even with multiplayer turned off and no internet conection, so there is no way you can claim this is working as intended concidereing it by all accounts should be concidered a game breaking bug. I would like to know why you concider it working as intended when the pause button clearly does not work.

Seems somewhat suspicious that the lack of pausing is intentional. It's even more suspicious that Bedrock is supposed to be the replacement for legacy console edition, which had pausing. Just to greatly increase the suspicion even more, the devs haven't really said anything about pausing since 2018...

...While we have used the feedback to request for the return of a feature that nearly every other video game has, we have yet to hear from the devs about it. It greatly confuses me that they can do all of these game changing updates, yet somehow they can't add in an essential feature such as pausing...

You can delete my comment if you want, but I still have hope that the Minecraft development team is capable of understanding that the lack of pausing is not only a big issue for the game in general but is also a Java feature as well that should be added so that Minecraft: Bedrock reach the "Universal" version that it's set out to be.

I genuinely tried to show some support and want features like this added to the game so that people will be happy - I even said that if the team is so busy that working on this feature (or any feedback site based feature) is too inconvenient at this time, that they tell the community why their suggestions aren't being attended to yet.

If this comment is deleted again, that's fine - I tried. Some people are being seriously unappreciative of what the game has achieved right now, and I don't want that to be the message the community sends to Mojang/Microsoft. If the comment is deleted, can I at least have a reason why please? If not I will delete my account and simply stop playing Bedrock edition.
