This was reported in #3341, but it was closed and never fixed. Pausing the game doesn't really pause the game. When pausing, you can still see mobs moving through the Pause Screen, and hostile mobs can damage the player. This also applies when opening a Command Block.

Still an issue in 1.2.0.9 - Even with multiplayer disabled, the game doesn't pause when escape is pressed.
You can delete my comment if you want, but I still have hope that the Minecraft development team is capable of understanding that the lack of pausing is not only a big issue for the game in general but is also a Java feature as well that should be added so that Minecraft: Bedrock reach the "Universal" version that it's set out to be.
I genuinely tried to show some support and want features like this added to the game so that people will be happy - I even said that if the team is so busy that working on this feature (or any feedback site based feature) is too inconvenient at this time, that they tell the community why their suggestions aren't being attended to yet.
If this comment is deleted again, that's fine - I tried. Some people are being seriously unappreciative of what the game has achieved right now, and I don't want that to be the message the community sends to Mojang/Microsoft. If the comment is deleted, can I at least have a reason why please? If not I will delete my account and simply stop playing Bedrock edition.
Your comment did not follow Mojang's guidelines for contributing here on the bug tracker ( https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049840492-Mojang-Bug-Tracker-Guidelines#h_01FA3XWWFGEK470PGJM5FRX4G1 ) as it was not adding more information about the bug but rather requesting a change.
Sorry I did not leave a response after I removed the original comment.
I understand your frustration about how it appears the request on the feedback site is being ignored, however there is not much we can do here on the Bug tracker about that as it is not the platform for this type of discussion.
I would recommend looking for/creating the suggestion on a platform like Redit where it will be better seen and discussed in public and possibly get better traction.
If you have any questions feel free to join our Mojira Discord ( https://discord.gg/58Sxm23 ) or post on our Redit ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Mojira/ )

Thank you Dr.Awesome4333 for the response. I intended to use the bug tracker for posting bugs and assisting in bug reports, it's just that this one caught me off as a tad strange how it's even still in the game - apologies for any inconvenience or if I wasted anyone's time. Massive thank you as well for the recommendations - I'll definitely look into those!Β π

I can confirm this but I think that it is not a bug. Mojang knows more about this than I do though.
