Steps to Reproduce:

Launch the app/game.
The game starts with the Mojang loading screen.
Immediately freezes (black screen, crash, or closes itself).
The main menu never loads.
I must force shutdown the computer to exit.

Expected Behavior:
The game should open normally and load the main menu.

Actual Behavior:

Immediate crash after launch.

Troubleshooting Already Tried:

Reinstallation
Cache clearing
Device restart
Updated drivers and Windows
Tried launching via Xbox app and Microsoft Store
Java Edition works fine (only Bedrock crashes)

Logs:

None generated.

Have you tried reinstalling the launcher? (Remember to create backup files before doing so, then delete folder .minecraft before reinstalling the launcher.)

Could you please include details about your device and system specifications (RAM, CPU, GPU)?
Have you tried deleting the Minecraft Bedrock folder in %AppData%? (Remember to create backup files before doing so.)

I’ll explain what’s happening with the black screen. From what I found out, the Windows 11 or 10 security is blocking Minecraft Bedrock, and it’s already giving an error.
It ends up giving an AMD limit error, which shows up when I press Alt+F4 all the time. I asked Xbox or the team, and they said it was already a game error that they needed to fix.
That’s why I came to report this bug.
It’s been 12 days without playing.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (driver updated)
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics

I am also having this exact issue. I have tried deleting the minecraft launcher and reinstalling it, I have tried deleting minecraft bedrock and reinstalling it, I have tried running the Game Services Repair Tool which previously worked when I encountered the same issue on 12/18/2025. This time none of these fixed my issue.

My specs are as follows:
CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H
RAM: 16GB

In addition, launching the game will, in open browsers, cause websites that use WebGL for rendering (for me, Scratch and Audiotool) to break and report problems with WebGL until the browser is closed and reopened.

For me, the game can be closed with control+alt+delete and the task manager, though doing so often causes my screen to briefly go black before each menu (the Windows Security menu, then the task manager itself) loads. Once Task Manager has loaded, the Minecraft window turns white instead of black.

It also sometimes causes the desktop to turn black until selected or hovered over, and sometimes causes parts of the task manager menu to turn black until hovered over.

Launching directly from the start menu does not fix the problem.

I tried installing the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.5.1 for Polaris & Vega driver, and after that Bedrock Edition started working properly. My processor is a Ryzen 7 5700G, with graphics card: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (496 MB). I checked the error logs and found that a Windows TDR (Timeout Detection and Recovery) had been triggered.

Symptom: white screen on launch, the game never reaches the main menu.
Event Viewer (Application log): Event ID 1002 "Application Hang" for Minecraft.Windows.exe 1.26.52.3. No display driver timeout (TDR, Event 4101) in the System log, so this does not look like the driver reset described earlier in this thread.

Already tried, no change: Repair/Reset, reinstalling Minecraft and Gaming Services, DISM /RestoreHealth + sfc, a brand-new local Windows account, launching with the network disconnected, launching via the Minecraft Launcher. Visual C++ v14 (x86/x64) is installed. Other Store games and the Xbox app work normally.

Oops, I just made a duplicate of this. Didn’t find it 'til just now. But yeah pretty much the same issue for me, except mine loads to 51% before crashing. Gets past the red, white, and black screens, to the grey loading X% screen and then always gets to 51% before crashing.

Possible Solution(s):

I am back in!! I wish I knew what exactly was the fix, but unfortunately I don’t. However I can say what I remembered:

I used Wise Care 365 and ran:
- System Cleaner > Registry Cleaner
- System Cleaner > Common Cleaner
I used CCleaner and ran:
- Custom Clean
- Performance Optimizer
I uninstalled Minecraft through Add or Remove Programs (Windows Key > type Add or Remove Programs, Find Minecraft/Minecraft for Windows in the filter list and uninstall it)
I deleted all files from %temp% (Windows Key+R > type %temp% > press enter > in the window that appears; press Ctrl+A to select all > Shift+Delete to delete)
I deleted the entire “%appdata%\Minecraft Bedrock” folder (same way to get to %temp% except just type “%appdata%\Minecraft Bedrock” and if you have it; then delete it.)
I deleted some stuff that I can’t remember from %appdata%\.minecraft
I deleted some stuff that I can’t remember from %appdata%\.minecraft_bedrock
I deleted everything inside LocalCache from %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.4297127D64EC6_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
I reinstalled Minecraft from the Microsoft Store instead of from the Minecraft Launcher
I launched Minecraft from the Microsoft Store instead of the Minecraft Launcher
